Since I'm pretty new to the community I'm wondering what are some armies that people don't really see in kingston. From asking a few people already I'm pretty sure Shannon and I are the only ones who play tyranids regularly and admech is pretty rare.

Adeptus Mechanicus is certainly the most rare. Custodes, Sisters of Battle, Daemons, and Orks are also fairly rare to see.

Genestealer cults are pretty rare (I think Connor, Keegan and I are the only ones that have them unless I'm misremembering). Tyranids there's only a couple of us.
Admech is probably the rarest (yes even with them being super dominant worldwide all last year) where I honestly think 1-2 people own them I think? I know Jake does but he's pretty far away now so we don't see him that often.
Sisters there's a few... maybe 3-4? (Jake, me, Pigeon and I wanna say Connor has them as well)
Astra Militarum - I think there's a few people that own them... but honestly I only see them once in a while as well.
Daemons there's again 3-4 of us who play them (me, Connor, Danny, Justin)
Orks, there's only a few... again 3-4 I think
Drukhari - do not see often but I know there's some around here! (I own them, Ryan does, and a few more floating around)
Custodes - I think again it's about 3-4 people that I've seen locally run them.... even with how good they are.

I also own sisters they just haven't seen any table time yet aside from tests with a friend. Ad mech isn't too shocking to be uncommon to me with the price to entry being pretty high even for 1000 points. Orks being uncommon shocks me a bit they seem very fun to play.

Knights are rare enough as well, I think there's only myself and McAdoo that have actual knight armies that see the light of day anymore. Lots of people seem to have one or two when soup was a thing, but mono knights is uncommon.
I'm sure lots of people have some kind of Guard army, but not many get played I don't think. At least not recently; but their book aged really poorly, so that's likely a big factor as well.

There's definitely a fair number of people who own enough knights to field a force (I have like 3k points of em or something!) I think all my regular opponents have the capacity to play knights/chaos knights as well. There's just very little motivation to play them right now.
See also: where are all the chaos marines? Same thing. Besides some wonky skew lists the book is really discouraging to actually use. With the rules updates I expect both knights and CSMs to go from being rarities to regular sights overnight.
AdMech is definitely head and shoulders above everything else for rarity in Kingston, Jake was literally the last person I saw put AdMech down and that wasn't in 9th lol

Ya Admech was very popular in kingston in 7th with formations where you could get the free upgrades on everything the classic WAR CONVOCATION!!! but since then AD mech in the area turned down a fair bit.

I agree with Typhus' list but would swap Daemons for GSC (only because Daemons don't have a book yet, and I think their numbers are likely suppressed by that, we had a fairly healthy number of daemons some time ago imo)
We're at the stage of an edition where any faction without a book is having it's play-time suppressed if it's owned by someone with multiple armies, that will naturally fix itself by late-summer this year I'd suspect given the number of books left to release.

I have GSC but haven't played them since I don't know when. I have a Knight force (Castellan, 4 knights, 6 armigers) but again, have not played them a lot but they were fun when I did. And Orks ARE fun to play. In fact I always recommend you play them with your funny bone. Same approach to converting and painting them (eg. Santa Klaws and his Axmuz Grots). Also the only times I hot-rodded a flyer and built a layered multi-source tank.
