The fact that they're showing two different strats that use cultists makes wonder if the other traitor legions will have similar thematic options. In that GW is going 'OK you want to run X legion with Cultists? Here's what you can do with them'. Because each Legion would treat the cultist differently (though they are all still cannon fodder/expendable in the end).
As for the mutant rabble, free unit regrowth (and 3 models per turn at that) is always nice and depending on how large the unit can be made (alogn with what buffs you can put on), I see these guys being a nice cheap tarpit unit that can still do damage via the torments.

Nice to see Oblits are staying mainstays at that price point.

Also we have a leak for the Warmaster himself. To put it bluntly, this guy is terrifying.
And all this for 300 points. -Looks at named C'Tan shards that cost 350 and 370. Compares their capabilities to Abaddon- My god-shards just don't measure up.

So you're saying I made the right move snagging Shannon's?

So you're saying I made the right move snagging Shannon's? Let me put it this way: WS/BS 2+ S/T 6 W9 A8 L11 SV2+(4+ invul) - Can only take 3 points of damage per phase - +1 strength if charged/charge or heroic intervention - Can ignore the first damage dealt to him per turn - If the strength of an attack against him is equal or at least double his toughness, -1 to the wound roll. Need 13 strength or higher
- Always fights first
His daemon sword (+3S -4AP D3) that he can swing 8 times on a wound roll of 6, causes 1d3 mortal wounds as extra. He also has an auro buffing core units and can make a single unit reroll hits of 1 (if BLack legion they can also reroll wounds of 1).
Edit: I do admit that the Nightbringer can potentially kill him in a fight assuming that it hasn't already taken 6 points of damage before entering combat. It just requires that it manages to do 9 points of damage with the scythe (since it ignores FnP and other damage ignoring abilities). Problem is that it does damage on a d6 instead of a flat amount.

So you're saying I made the right move snagging Shannon's? let's just say you were quick on the draw, because I had several messages asking about him lol And yeah he is super scary... like primarch level scary... I think 300 points for this beast is a bargain

I think 300 points for this beast is a bargain Particularly since unlike the other 'only do three damage per phase' guys, you can shield him with units.

I like how he may not break your legion traits if you take him in something other than black legion. which is cool, alpha legion don't have any characters. since you know, we are alpharius.

I love how the article comments on it being the year of chaos. This book is releasing July 2.

I also saw that Raiders are going up to T9, gaining wounds and some flare-up on their guns; same as the Vindicator (12 wounds now), its main gun is going to:
Heavy D3+3 // S10 // AP-4 // D=D6 // Blast
Not a bad upgrade for the points staying the same. On the raider, it got better AND points went down, so it might MIGHT have a chance of seeing a table, except.. you know... for Tau possibly. Or Karnivore War Dogs...

figured I'd ask this here. but I'm building a biker squad and was wondering if, new codex wise, if their gear is limited or different from 8th ed. I was going to go with 2 bikers with plasma guns and chainswords , and the champ with a chainsword and combi plasma, but not sure if he is still allowed to do that.
