No need for any link(s), it's all over the place today.
I'm sure we're all in agreement that the supplements were going to be revoked/removed from legality because they are just bonkers and several of the rules in them were incorporated into the Nids book, but what's crazy to me is the number of comments of people who are unhappy/mad about this? like seriously? Is this the real world?
To be clear, I'm not trying to start some sort of flame war, there's enough of that out there on reddit/youtube right now. But it seems crazy to me that people are actually arguing "en masse" in favour having these supplements remain in play?

I really don't understand it. The only issue i can really see is I feel like crusher just came out. For example I got to use crusher stampede for clubs and now it's not usable but I don't really see an issue since this new codex is so sweet. Maybe the people arguing for it to be kept in are power gamers who all ran out and bought tyranids when the leaks happened waiting for their super strong crusher leviathan 9th edition Tyranids but that's more on them for not thinking ahead.

GOOD.
as a tyranid player... all I can say is GOOD.
crusher + this fantastic new codex is just too oppressive. I had already committed to never running the combo even if it was legal, because it would just be gross.
I AM a little miffed at the amount of money I spent on completely useless GW material in the last few months... but that's another issue entirely, and I can eat the cost for the good of the game.

I does suck that they pulled a sucker punch and made people spend money on a band aid to get Nids to their new codex but I can't say I didn't see this coming. The Nids + Crusher was CRAZY overpowered after the nerfs to the top 3 - Tau,Custodes, harlies.
Not super happy with the business practice but happy with the balance change.

For me, this whole thing makes me not want to buy any supplements anymore. I don`t play enough to pay for 4 books for rules I'll use a handful of times (Codex, Psychic awakening, Octarius/Nachmund, Chapter approved). Since I am more of a casual player I might just stick to my codexes and live with that, even if it means fewer wins.
I still like the game of course I'll just have to adapt.

Crusher stampede is probably the most obvious case of "there's no way this is going to fly alongside the new codex", but it does not surprise me that some are salty.
People suck. Or more specifically, many people are selfish and inept and were pretty excited about the rules giving them a massive leg up on the competition, so that they could finally feel the thrill of victory. I dunno. Nothing kills my own interest in an army faster than hearing it's OP. I'm not very good at these games, but I still feel hollow and embarassed if I think my rules won for me, rather than skill. Not everyone has the "did I earn this?" filter, though.
Others are probably just annoyed at the rules churn, with books (or magazines) being printed and then invalidated, so quickly. I sympathize with this, but in the case of the WD, I think it's generally fine. Those are cheap, and obviously meant as hold overs to make things fun while we wait out the glacial pace that is GW's publishing cycle.
For the good of the game, I'll buy the WD and skip on the $65 hard back supplements. How many war zone books have been published during 9th? And there's only one left available for purchase? I get the idea of milking those old cows who aren't going anywhere, but this seems like one of the easiest ways to turn off new players and incentivize habits that don't involve handing GW money. In my personal opinion, this is a terrible strategy, that's only going to hurt them in the long run. If I sigh and buy them anyway, I'm sending the opposite message.

I have never and will never buy a campaign book. The two rules that make my army "go" are always floating around on the internet a week before the release. It is easy to see that these $50 books are a complete money making machine, and they are incredibly easy to ignore.
All this to say, I am fine with extra rules as long as they say what is and isn't "legal", and Wahapedia continues to exist.

I'm done with supplements, even though the Belakor one is still fine and dandy... too bad the four pages of rules are only marginally useful... see my previous rant about how much I got taken with that one. Octarius was pretty much essential to even play nids during the 4-5 months until the new codex was dropped (ahem leaked) as the army was just non-functional other than hive guard spam which was a blight on the game and I'm glad I never bought into it. sucks that NONE of it is any good anymore. The white dwarf crusher stampede I couldn't really care about, as it was just a WD and not a $50 book, and I actually read the rest of the magazine when I got it... even though it was a bit "meh". It needed to go, and I'm glad it did, even as a nid player - for similar reasons that Dave mentioned above. I don't want to be playing a "feels bad" army to play against. Makes for not very many games, and I can't rely on tournaments having a spot for me But man, I've got a lot of expensive books that aren't any good anymore, in this case less than six months after paying $50 for it. I'm kinda done with riding on that train.

I'm in agreement with many of the other opinions expressed here.
I think the vast majority aren't offended the rules rotated out: that was probably a given and we know to expect it sooner or later. It's more 'I paid $50 for a splatbook that expired after only 6 months'. If it had been a free update like a dataslate would anyone care? All the units are available in normal list construction even if their effectiveness has changed.
Personally I ditched on these types of books back during psychic awakening but I'm still disappointed to see it getting worse not better.

I am sad that I can no longer use the Name Generator for my Dark Angels from Psychic Awakening: The Ritual of the Damned in Matched Play. Farewell Brother Amithel! You will be missed. Unlike Brother None (rolling a 66). He was too much of an Edgelord. Even for a Dark Angel.
