Anyone have tips for magnetizing the bottom of Rhino / tank treads to stick onto a metal tray. What do people typically do? Shave off some of the nubs and stick em on? Drill in and flush mount?

I normally shave down the track with a hobby knife where I want to put the magnets.
flush mount probably is a better solution, but have never actually tried that.

Not sure if this is going to work, but you got me thinking how I might so this for my rhino chassis vehicles.
I think what I'm going to try is drill 5 holes in the track directly below each of the road wheels and flush mount a 1/16th magnet in each hole. That would give ~10 magnets if I did all 5 wheels on each side, which I think would be strong enough to hold.
I'll report back on this once I've tried it.

I ended up shaving off the nubs and just sticking them on. The track was too thin to make holes for the size of magnet. Worked out ok.
