Well here's some information that makes me a happy daemon. Good job everyone... our prayers to the ruinous powers have been answered. GOOD troop choices! www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/05/two-saves-are-better-than-one-for-the-horrific-hordes-in-codex-chaos-daemons/Bloodletters are definitely back on the menu! +1 strength and toughness! a 4+ unmodifiable save against ranged attacks / 5+ in combat horrors splitting baked in? (seems that way) and having a 3+ save vs. ranged is awesome. Sure they're sporting a 6+ only when tagged, but I'm totally okay with them being super fragile to melee. Pretty much the biggest thing I wanted from this new codex was to make the choices outside of the HQ slots worthwhile and no longer a tax. I'm super stoked about this!

back when I played in high school, chaos space marines could summon deamons onto the field, wonder if that will be a thing, there was no mention of it in the csm codex, winder if there will be something in the deamon dex.

3+ and 4+ on troops versus shooting? T'au are going to hate fighting daemons unless they have the railguns for mortal wounds.
In the meantime, time for the Immortals to start hauling around Tesla again.

I mean mass fire from pulse rifles and burst cannons are still going to rock them, just not as bad before.
but yes the bigger deamons will love having a save vs railguns

oh look khorne is... well ..... it's in the book. neither of these previews has me wowed... a 2 CP strat to make a bloodletter unit not in combat move 6"... in this CP economy? flesh hounds being marginally better doesn't really fix their problems, so hopefully there's something in the datasheet that makes them worth taking. Skulltaker looks interesting... Khorne is so poor right now, they're going to need more than this to not be a meme list... bloodcrushers? will you save us? (extrapolating from bloodletters they SHOULD be T5?) www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/08/khorne-day-codex-chaos-daemons-has-even-better-ways-to-reap-a-cranial-crop/

soul grinders are....good? what kind of upside down world are we living in these days? natfka.blogspot.com/2022/08/chaos-daemons-flamers-40k-rumors-soul.htmlToo bad about the mortal wound strat for flamers, but at least they went up to AP-2 on their flamers so it's still going to do something vs. armor of contempt, especially with D6+2 shots each, so I can see them being quite useful. 3+ daemon save vs. shooting is crazy good. forces the opponent to get them in melee with their poor 6+ save - but overwatch is definitely a thing with these guys, so that's a tough choice for the opponent (although rhino sacrifice charge is likely the first move!) screamers having a 3+ vs. range seems amazing, but they're a close combat unit and only having a 6+ in combat is going to hurt them (over the 4++ they used to have!) but at least they're more likely to make it there!

Some good stuff for nurgle here! www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/16/codex-chaos-daemons-packs-plenty-of-poxes-into-nurgles-followers/plaguebearers back to T5 and now two wounds! (although no more FNP - we're like death guard now!) with a gnarlmaw regenerating models and giving cloud of flies they're actually usable now! beasts are going to be FANTASTIC... +1 toughness, +2 wounds, and beasts heal completely at the end of each phase? WHAT? that's bonkers! 5+/4+ too... these things will be a nightmare to remove (they're already very difficult now) now this is the second god-specific daemon preview that does not include details about greater daemons... interesting...

Yeah those nurgle beasts look spicy with 7 wounds and a 4+/5+ demon save. and if you don't kill one outright it heals back to full...... wow that sounds like a pain in the butt to remove.

Refresh my memory, how large a unit can you take beasts of Nurgle in? I can see the new Nurgle meta involving swarms of BoN along with some buffing characters.
And this is where the -1 damage is really going to be paying off.

I normally run 8... but who knows how many we'll be allowed to in the new book.

Currently Beasts of Nurgle are 1-9 - I wouldn't be surprised to see this change, given as they come 1 to a box.
Indications suggest that Nurgle Daemons will not benefit from -1 Damage.

yeah if they go one to a unit that's... well not great.... as pretty much any daemon player who used nurgle from the last several books has more than three!
I thought I read somewhere in an article that nurgle was losing the FNP and going to the same -1 as death guard... but I cannot remember if this was just a rumour article or something actually from warcom
(looks in this very thread)
okay it was from the Auspex Tactics videos, not warcom
