There are alot of rules that are beyond ridiculous in this game, ie..shooting through two or three walls at an enemy vehicle, able to see only a sliver of the target through a few windows, then granting that vehicle a 3+ cover save against the undeniably impossible shot. Because technically there is line of sight! We are all aware of the flaws in the system. We all play this game for fun. I haven't read the rules sets for any of the other editions but it is painfully obvious when playing people that grew up on other editions, that the system is constantly changing. Change doesn't come without questioning the way things are. IMHO, asking questions and trying to make sense of the rules is a big part of this for all of us. It is also required to make things better. No one should be shot down for trying to make sense of things. I for one am happy to work out house rules and the like, to make the game more enjoyable for all. I will also be the first to stand down when someone starts lawyering the rules to death, I'm here to have fun. (Unless there are models on the line of course, if that's the case it will be apparent that that individual lacks confidence and a sense of fun.....) Brad This is only a game. ;D

After having time to think about it more , I've came to a conclusion I thought may be worth putting forth for why only 1 explosion can happen.
The result "Destroyed - Explodes" has the vehicle explode and also requires you to remove the model and replace it with a crater (provide you have one).
Since a model can't be removed from the table more than once, you can't apply the full result twice. So since a full result can not be applied twice to the same model, it can only be applied once.
When you wound a regular model 3 times, it doesn't die 3 times. If that was the case you could argue that a unit wounded 3 times only requires one space marine to be removed since I can apply the same result for a wound suffered to a single wound model 3 times and only have to remove it once.

well if you look at explosions logically there are a couple different kinds. Small explosions that would just wreck something and then others could happen after like ammunition going off and then there are total explosions like nuke going off blowing it self up and everything in the general area. Now if there is suppose to be a crater i assume its a total explosion. But i haven't played the game and don't know the rules yet.

In the Destroyed description it states that all the vehicles ammo & fuel explode sending out shrapnel in all directions which is represented by the d6" blast radius you roll for

ahh that description would say one explosion wouldn't it cause if all the fuel and ammo explode there is nothing left to explode. Ok you could have hit the fuel and ammo a couple times but if you hit the button on a nuke to make it explode it only explodes once right. lol

You would hope so A nuke that could detonate multiple times would be a very scary thing...mind you that would mean that part of it was invulnerable to a nuclear blast in the first place...so there would likely be things made of that material and so themselves immune thus making a multi-blast nuke unnecessary since it wouldn't destroy everything that you wanted it to

Hmm...I know this is completely off topic, but there should be a separate "vehicle explodes" chart if you manage to score it on a Deathstrike before the missile launches.

true since it would be a bigger explosion cause of the missile, unless it needs to be armed to explode like a nuke and can be blown up with out it going off

Just because I like these kind of things to get resolved, I took this one to the top. Erm. Well slightly to the side now, given that he's not with the company anymore, but to the guy that wrote it none-the-less. I was told from the mouth of Alessio Cavatore that only one explosion is ever resolved.

Good enough for me. The more that's resolved here, the less I have to worry about on the tabletop, is what I figure.
