Suggestions? I know some people(like me) are interested in a doubles and others want a 2k. I'm trying to follow the shannon cycle of tournaments(no paint req low points, something big with painting req, ect ect) so i'm looking to see what people want. Once we get some suggestions that garner steam, i'll post a poll for the next tournament in January, though we may try and squeeze an event in between the two(unlikely though).
Also any suggestions on house rules or any rules questions, general game and tournament feedback. In terms of rules, i am going suggest we follow the suit of most major 30k tournaments and ban Rite of the Ancients- it's cool as fuck and i really wanna do a army of it with Istavaan III loyalists, but the general consensus seems to be that it's just too strong given how dreads sit, but i will ultimately let the community decide.

I'd suggest we rule that return fire happens simultaneously, unlike the mess the FAQ introduced.
Also throwing my hat in for singles over doubles.

My vote is for singles.
Teams/doubles introduces way roo much complexity for a game alot of us barely know how to play properly
As to the Rite of War thing....I agree all dreadnoughts is way too strong, but I also think the nature of our HH community will self limit that sort of thing showing up

I also vote for singles. Again, walk before we run. No point having an unnecessarily stressful tournament. Or worse yet, insufficient turn out.
I agree that return fire should be simultaneous. Fully support that as a house rule.
Until proven "too strong" I don't see the point of banning Rite of the Ancients. We probably won't see it develop in to much here even if it is. But if anybody can buy, beg, borrow, or (preferrably not) steal enough units to give this a try, I have no problem with having a go against it.

Though I don't think we should make this a house rule, I have been sticking to the 1 dreadnought per 1000pts of play limitation eg, at 2001-3000 pts, I would allow myself to take 3. This includes all dreads, so I would take 2 contemptors and one levi at 3k.
This seems to be a popular self-regulated restriction that many play groups are sticking to.

I haven't played hh yet. But this seems like it would be very tough to play against with my iron hands.
-1 strength to ranged weapon firing at the dread with contemptor dread battleline (not sure what that does since I don't play) backed up by leviathans.
I own enough dreads to do this I believe (not 100% sure how list making works)

I agree with “Return Fire” happening simultaneously. RoA should maybe just be something for casual/narrative games. I wouldn’t mind playing against it if I knew what I was getting into before the game.

I'm with singles.
It's the list a problem currently in the area?
If no, why the ban? Second to that why ban when you can mitigate. Give victory points for dreads in all games under the rite of war. This makes sense in that losing the most revered and entrusted members of the Legion are disastrous and people can still play whatever they want.

I think that may have been how March of the Ancients worked in 1.0. Kind of made the list an "auto-lose" unless you table your opponent quickly, so not super fun on either side. On the whole I agree though. I voted no for ban, as we've litterally only had one event, and very little data to go on so far. My hope is that with the next even we focus on a narrative aspect, encouraging folks to come up with a reason why there force is what it is, and playing into their legion's identity. That in and of itself may limit folks need for "game-y-ness"

I like the idea of narrative campaigns, been to a fair few at Warhammer World in my time so would like to see more of those, like 2 factions, with 1 overall leader placing players, or after each game traitors move down one table number and loyalist up one to change up the game play.

Seeing as how neither side has a plurality of votes i'll hold off on banning it for now. I'll talk to Bird re: the next tournament, hopefully an announcement soon. Thanks for the input everyone
