I mean Morvenn Vahl is about as close as a sisters unit gets to a BIG CHUNGUS PRIME. She's closer to Guilliman in points than she is to Celestine, to put it in perspective. Certainly it's not a box that is super appealing to buy duplicates of for that reason. I'd say Imperial Knights is by far the most generically good, price dependent. You get a bunch of core models you'll be using in nearly every list and you can double up with no issue. Ah, yes, the Knight box is great too! Apparently since they can be used as Chaos Knights as well. I'm more thinking of physical size of units for the big chungus keyword. Morvenn Vahl is about 7 cm tall, compared to Magnus at 25 cm and Mortarion at 20 cm. Anything at that size is going to be a pain to move and a bigger pain to store. The primarchs are keyworded as Monster, so there are extra rules for movement? (At least they also have Fly, which Cawl of the AdMech does not.) The primarchs are also Lord of War units so they have to be put into a separate super-heavy aux detachment - which is something that confused me for a while. I'll happily pay more points for a quality HQ. (In fact, I really want to since my current AdMech army is so expensive dollarwise per point.) I personally just don't want to move a unit around the tabletop with a 23 cm wingspan... Or even bring it to game day. |

I'm surprised that the Thousand Sons box isn't full of Tzaangors. It's a well known fact that Magnus the Red is actually just nine Tzaangors in a suit of armor. Ever wonder why he has those horn nipples on his breastplate? Now you know. Now I want someone to make magnus with tzaangors voltron style lol |

I agree that the custodes one is my pick for MVP here but the knights one would be there if I didn't already have most of my imperial knights already lol. Might actually pick up the custodes one it's the only one that looks like a good jumping in point or i don't already have the main HQ named character from. Plus that puts me one closer to the "like a billion armies" point.

They all have named characters which is interesting because before I don’t think they have ever included a named character.

Writing as somebody who is way too far along that "gotta get 'em all" path (like Jack), be careful what you wish for. My collection, both painted & in waiting, + paints, tools, bitz, and additional materials quite literally TOWERS over me! (And sometimes I'm sure it's talking to itself.)

My sisters, thousand sons and admech are all just piles of grey with a little painted. It's a little daunting. However it's just more that I can paint when I AM in the mood for it lol the only armies I think I have more painted than not is tyranids and death guard out of my 8 armies.
