Testing Darkness

Lately I've been fascinated with painting chaos warriors. Coming up with paint schemes is one of the more interesting, but always difficult, parts of this hobby for me.

Beginning guidlines I set for the scheme:
Must contain purple (cause slaanesh)
Armour is very dark/black
No gold or bronze (I use these a lot)
Silver metallics

Next ideas:
Yellow tint to horns, skins, furs.
Warm brown leathers
Maybe teal green (for nurgle and contrast)

I really do hate looking at photos of my stuff. Colour is never quite right, and zooming in for a better view is always super unflattering. Oh well, they give a decent enough idea of the colour options. Maybe I'll learn basic photography one day.



Thoughts on what works or doesn't welcome. I'll have to pick something eventually.

Personally speaking, I've always been partial to pink colours for Slaanesh forces. Then again, I'll likely never make my own as Slaanesh is the chaos good that interests me the least.

That being said, you did amazing work. Then again, having seen your Beasts or Chaos, I'd expect nothing less. You are very talented. 🙂

Haha thanks man. I pushed some of the highlights to pink on the purple, but not sure I want to go all the way. I have another model in progress now. Going more purple to magenta on the cape. It does feel more pink. I'm definitely more of a blue violet fan in general. I love purple, but it has been a challenge to paint. The green cape was a snap in comparison.
