Hello all, I'm wondering if there is interest in me running a local 40k league, as part of the Ontario League?
We would need at least 10 players to commit to playing the league, in order to run it. It will be a great chance for people to play some games, against some new opponents, in a more relaxed setting than a tournament. If you have any questions I will try to answer them!
Cheers, Sean
Some information about the Ontario 40K league:
The next season will be starting on January 30th. This should allow for the data slate/points changes and new mission pack to come into play. Each season will consist of 5 rounds. Each round players have 3 weeks per round to get their games in. Games will be played against players in your division. Pairing for the next round will be on the Swiss pairing system. Players will be faction locked for the season but you can change your list between rounds. Changes to your list will be due before the next round pairings to avoid list tailoring. Prize support will be handled by your local division executive, there is a small entry fee for each division for prizes. The top 3 players from each division will be invited to an invitational at the end of the season. So in June there will be a provincial wide tournament.

Highlights for those of you who won't read it are:
“Faction Lock” Rules
The faction that contains the armies WARLORD is considered the primary faction for the army. This primary faction cannot change after the first round of the season has started and you must always have one detachment in your primary faction and it must always contain your warlord. You are free to add or subtract factions in the form of soup if that option is legally available to you, but the primary faction cannot change and must contain your warlord. Other than this faction lock, the list itself can be changed after each game, BEFORE the pairings are published for the next round.
Subfaction are not locked for any armies, however if a player wins their game then their chosen subfaction is locked in for the following round. Players who draw or lose their game are free to change subfactions if they choose too. (This rule also applies to Army of renown selections) Note: Space marines Chapters count as subfactions for this rule. The primary faction is Adeptus Astartes.
Models & Painting
Models should aim to be completely assembled and WYSIWYG. However, in the spirit of encouraging participation and growth of the hobby, just make sure your opponent has no issues with any conversions/proxies that you might be using in your game. If there are any issues, speak to your executive member for your region.
The 10 points for painting will be auto awarded by both players regardless of the painting level of the models. This is in the interest of making the league as welcoming and easy as possible for all participants to participate.
