So Arks of Omen has changed the alpha legions secondary. the action now completes at the end of the turn. and if the unit is in range of an objective, they can subvert it on a 4+ (5+ if it's a cultist unit). the question is, do I need to be in control of said objective to subvert it? reading it it doesn't explicitly say if the unit needs to be in control of the objective, it just states if it is range of an objective.
so hypothetically speaking, if somehow a unit gets into range of an objective, even the one in thier deployment zone, and even tho I don't control it for reasons, there's a 50% chance that that objective gets shut down.

you're just bound by the "completing an action" rules, which means you cannot attempt it if you're in engagement range, advanced or fell back. Action fails if you do anything from page 123 that causes an action to fail, however it doesn't say that you have to control the objective to subvert it, so I believe that's the intent. (otherwise it'd be pretty difficult to make happen!)

Indeed, you don't have to control an objective to subvert it - it's also possible to subvert multiple objectives at once if you manage to string a unit far enough.
