So rereading the capabilities of the Beserks I came across something I wanted to be sure about.
Their FNP ability (Augmented) states that each time a model would lose a wound you roll a d6 and if it's a 5+, that wound is not lost. However there is the note that if the damage characteristic of the attack was one, you add 1 to your roll.
Would this additional effect apply to mortal wounds?

I think it would depend in my mind. (tho im sure more knowledgeable people then me will be able to weigh in.) so damage characteristic is from a weapon attack. so if the mortal wound would be comeing from somthing like a space marine scout sniper, which is damage one, but 6 do a mortal wound as well. then the scourse would be damage one so extra fnp. tho if its from a volkite which is damage 2 plus 6's doing a mortal wound i would say no. since the source isnt damage one.
as for psychic powers, explosions and other things they dont have a damage characteristic so no bonus. (also aren't an attack)
thats how id see it but i could see gw going either way on a ruling cause they make some weird ones.

This is FAQ worthy, if you haven't, submit to GW.
Technically speaking, my gut says no, you can't use the plus one, because mortal wounds don't have a profile, they are treated like they have a damage value of 1, but the process for resolving them does imply that without directly stating it.
So, my gutshot is no, you don't get the +1, but it's very possible this is an intended interaction by GW, and would make a lot of sense, it's actually more common than you might think to have a bonus against mortal wounds in these situations.

This was pretty much the consensus on a Facebook discussion I had read in regards to the question "Are Mortal Wounds DMG 1?" As Frosty said, Mortals don't come from any profile. The wording for Mortals (if I recall correctly) only say the model suffers 1 wound with no armour/invul saves allowed (other than FNP ones since they don't count as an armour/invul save), not that they take 1 damage

Mortal wounds don't have a D stat/profile
They are just wounds against which no saving throws of any kind (except ignoring wound throws) aew not allowed, which are resolved one at a time and spill over after models die

Right, so 4 up to ignore the bolt round to the face while 5 up to ignore the headache the psyker is giving them.
