Grey seer Rob-sk-in looked out over his forces from atop his screaming bell. His Skaven force was unstoppable, hordes of clan rats and slaves supported by the most ingenious war machines of clan Skyre and of course his personal bodyguard of stormvermin. He barley even showed any fear when his gutter runner scouts er reported that a host of the undead lead by a Blood Dragon vampire was advancing towards them.
He prudently dispatched a force to flanking position, if things went poorly he could blame their claw leader for not arriving on top and if things went very poorly and his main force was destroyed then he could make a tactical withdrawal and join them. But he felt that was unlikely he knew the undead were slow and witless no match for a Skaven of his supreme intellect and the firepower of clan Skyre.
He became a bit nervous when he saw the enemy force contained two large units of armoured knights, as well as fast moving wolves and bats. But they would all crumble easily before his mighty warriors.
The undead force surged forward on grouped in the center under the command of their general. On the right flank the jezzails fired at long range but failed to do much damage. The mighty warp lightning cannon fried a couple of the knights. But the grey seers magic was not as potent as he was expecting, his incompetent underlings must have provided him with impure warpstone.
The Skaven slaves he had sent forward to protect his valuable troops were run down by the deathless knights. But his swarms of rats gnawed through a unit of zombies and were then able to charge into the flank of the vampire counts unit of knights.
This however was not enough as the grey seer found his unit engaged by grave guard to his front and a unit of zombies that rose out of the ground to the rear. His foolish flanking force didn’t show up until after the battle had been decided. The Grey seer decided it was better to preserve his prodigious intellect to better serve Skavendom on a later date, and quickly quit the field. His lackeys had failed him this day, But he would get his revenge!
