I've been thinking about adding a FW knight to my collection. For those who have them, I'm wondering about a) the complexity of the builds, and b) which ones you find perform best on the table. Right now I have a fairly flexible Knights army so I'm open to either generalist or specialist knights. Any input you have would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Right now, rules-wise I wouldn't recommend any of them at all, especially if you're going to play chaos knights. If it's imperial the Atrapos is likely the best bet, followed by the castigator or Acheron.
Build complexity, no worse than any other resin kit; so have your boiling and ice-cold water handy. There's actually less parts than a GW plastic knight, but less posing options.
I plan on running my Castigator and Atrapos as "counts as" versions of codex knights, as they're just not good anymore for their points sadly. The Moirax have some cool weapon options, but those could just be magneted onto a regular old war-dog/armiger.

Have you thought about getting the plastic lancer instead?

Thanks! I will probably go ahead with a purchase just to have an example in my army, even if the rules aren't currently favourable. And thanks for the info on building. I'm certain you've explored all the posing possibilities. I have lots of blades, bits, and a Dremel stored in my workbench. Maybe my slightly off-beat way of looking at models will find some inspiration. '

A good suggestion, thanks, and I did wait to look at the plastic Lancer in case they made any significant changes to it. I was looking for something that has a more distinctive aesthetic, so the Atropos fits that bill.

I found that the knight joints are large enough to cut through in order to spin them in the socket so to speak, once you have your new orientation, I'd absolutely pin it together, as well as setting pins in all of your major joints. The resin just doesn't hold as well as plastic does over time regardless of how well you prep your surface with degreaser, sandpaper, etc.
