Good day all,
I've wanted for a while to create a sort of emergent narrative campaign based on different armies fighting over a planet and would like to know who would have an interest in playing. I don't have much experience doing so but I decided I wanted to at least try.
I've drafted up a Risk style map (see below) and a basic ruleset. Because of the size of the map there are currently up to 6 players slots. If enough people show interest I will draft up a bigger map.
The amount of territories you control increases the amount of points you recieve to replenish your losses each turn (starting at 200 per territory). Everyone starts off with 3000 and can split up forces to attack on different fronts. Any singular force can't go over 3000. You can use your units in different theatres unless they are independent characters, who remain assigned to specific forces. At the start of the campaign each faction will roll to see where their base territory is - this territory gives you a 500 pt higher point cap when you're defending it so people can't just be killed immediately and you'll need to gain advantages from more territories to be able to wipe out another faction.
Some territories also give additional advantages: Forges of Bovundia: must defeat NPC mech to prove worthiness of alliance OR have control of karmavethan industrial sector, giving access to mech allies. Agis penal colony: when controlling the facilities let's you take three free squads of levy that cannot score to represent prisoner chaff Mines of Chiland: advanced communication arrays give you reserve rerolls. Karmavethan industrial sector: large reserves of combi-weapons spare parts and ammunition, makes minor combiweapons free Naito hive city: local solar auxilia regiment barters their service for protection of their city, gives access to solar auxilia allies Khabunese Wastes: large landing area, higher replenishment rate for losses.
Battles will be played out over missions based on the circumstances of the encounter. Additionally, it's possible to create alliances and truces - though remember only one faction can end up winning! As I've said, this is a first for me so I'll take into account all feedback and this ruleset will evolve as we get more games in. Certain territories and missions will also give access to relics or hidden bonuses.
As a final note, this is going to be focused on narrative and fluff. Take this as an opportunity to try out lists you've never been able to before! Bring your own original characters, make a force that makes sense in lore. The usual 1 dread per 1000 pt limit will apply, but make sure to discuss what you're bringing with your opponent. After the end of the campaign I will type up a historical recounting of the campaign in the style of the old black books/ siege of cthonia.
I hope to see you all out there! Let Sidenankor burn... Attachments:

Wow I’m very excited for this. I think we should all focus on this Narrative campaign for now. I’ll put the league on hold, I was hoping to run it as a multi game league anyways. Regular Heresy, Zone Mortalis and Legions Imperialis. So hopefully that gets released for Christmas and we can start up the league for the New Year.

Because of the narrative focus of this campaign, I'd appreciate if everybody refrained from using unique Named Characters (like for example Armillus Dynat for Alpha Legion or Sigismund for Imperial Fists). I don't like restricting actual playing so by all means use their rules! But I think it would be better for the story if they are characters you make yourself and not existing ones (it would be a bit strange for all these important characters just showed up on this backwater world after all). As an example I wouldn't run Armillus Dynat but Solomon Akorra, third captain of the Ismenios chapter of the Alpha Legion, using Dynats rules. The most important reason for this is because I'll be doing a write up in the style of the Campaign books so it'll be far more interesting if it's original characters.
I look forward to reading about your guys!
Here's my Warlord as an example:

Ok fellas, registration is done! So far I'm tracking Paul as Loyalist DA, Trevor as traitor WE, Kalen as loyalist IF, southstafford as loyalist SW, Steve as loyalist UM and myself as traitor AL. Pleas correct me if I got your faction/loyalty wrong.
I need two more things before you get started. Please DM me or post here the fluff for your force (it can be as simple as "this is a border patrol of the so and so chapter of the xth legion led by John Doe) And additionally pick a number from 1-6 (first come first serve) to get assigned your starting territory. I'll take the final territory once you've all selected. I'll show the updated map once everyone has chosen.
Cheers!

Jarl Jorin Brokentooth stared out into the Fenrisian night, taking in the grandeur and partially listening to the hustle and bustle going on on the flight deck behind him, cargo, equipment and troops were being embarked, Dekk company was much depleted after its engagements with the Traitors this past year so had to scrounge reinforcements from injured and convalescing troops and some human auxiliaries, but his company will meet the demands set on them by Russ himself, the Spear of Fenris was a worthy ship, having crossed the stars before he was even born, captured from a human offshoot species after his old flagship was destroyed, Jorin sensed the Deck Officer approaching ' My Lord, that's the last of the cargo secured, the Ship Master says we are ready to depart on your order' 'Very well, the order is given, take us out' said Jorin.
