Hey all I'm looking to see if there is anyone in our local gaming community that is interested in learning to play Star wars Shater point.
I have picked up the starter box and am getting it up and running by mid October. Happy to do some learn to play games and share my models or if you have your own stuff to play some games.
Let me know.

I’m definitely interested in learning. What all would I need to play? Could I just buy the box with padme and and the units she comes with be good or would I need multiple boxes?

Hey so I am no means an expert but so far from my reading and play experience, if you want to play on your own you would need 3 things (maybe 4). All the rules and what is in each is on AMG website and they are really good at showing you what is there/ free rules. 1. Strike force (8 models) that is made up of 2 squads (4 models each). Only build restriction is points on cards, unit roles ( primary/secondary/support) and era. Each model in the squad needs to be same era (timeline) and have the correct squad point (SP) and cost point (CP) and each role primary/secondary/support must be filled. Otherwise you can mix and match anything in the squads and can even mix era in your strike force. Padme can lead bo-katan and some battle droid if you choose for one squad and team up with vader and inquisitors squad to form a strike team. Obviously some squads / strike teams have more synergy. 2. A set of dice - blue 6-sided defence and grey 8-sided attack 3. Movement and range templates set - these are for fixed movement and range attack distance. 4. Struggle tracker - how to see when the game ends and tracks points. So far each box released meets the requirements of a squad, so it to play a full game you would need 2 squad boxes. The core set comes with 4 squads so most people would have some extra models. The Dice can be bought separately ( one set per table, you can share), movement templates can be bought separately ( one set per table, you can share). The momentum tracker is the only things the core set has in it that is not sold separately that you might need but there are some 3d prints or 3rd party ones. The Terrain in the core box is nice but you can use pretty much any generic terrain you have to play. www.atomicmassgames.com/swp-gallery/link to the product store of what nexus can order in. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/simple-struggle-tracker-for-shatterpointLink to 3d struggle tracker for scoring.

Myself and Zach have been playing. We also have another friend who grabbed the starter box.

Excellent! I know I have about 3-4 people who are interested in our friend group and we have 2 starter boxes between us and a couple of the squad packs. I know Nexus said they have sold about a half dozen boxes so there are some people in the area who have it.
We shall work on making a community! I know Nexus usually has some play space and SBT in the west end is getting a new location with more space so we can see about balancing between the two for ease of travel for people.

Can confirm, I'm in. I've been chugging away painting the core set. As for what u need (if u dont want the core, that is), u just need 2 squad packs, dice, measuring tools, struggle tracker (can print or buy those from etsy if u dont get the core, which is the only place they are rn) and mission deck, though if ur opponent has the core u would be using the same deck regardless. of note, we're slated for a new mission deck release soon, so u can also buy that separately from the core set soon

What time are you thinking for this sunday? I think I can make it with some unpainted models that are assembled.

I forgot about mid terms next week. I'm not able to commit at this time now. If I do go down it will be for noon.
