Hey Everyone,
As i mentioned to the folks who showed up at the tournament at nexus this past weekend i am going to be shifting towards doing narrative events instead of tournaments. This will let us focus on the Loyalist vs Traitors stuff. Logistically on your end it will be much the same- it'll be on the website, with a fee to show up, at a store, with draw prizes. How matchups are determined, however, will change:
The basic idea is that i will have a map of the warzone, with each player represented by a piece(i'm thinking the epic stuff will be great for this!). At the start of the event, each team will elect a Marshall(Loyalist) or a Warmaster(Traitor). The Marshall and the Warmaster will then roll off for first deployment on the "campaign" map, and alternate placing units in different territories, thus giving us our matchups. Each territory will have different weather effects or mission effects/secondary objectives. As the lines shift and territories are fully secured, a secured territory will give a team-wide buff to the team that secures the territory, which will help them in further games.
My intent is to have a more concrete rules package written up in early Decembrish, with the first narrative event in either january or march of 2024.
The major piece of input i need from the community is on the following:
hh-ageofdarkness.itch.io
And if the community wants to use it. Kevin found the panoptica, which adds new missions, a campaign/crusade system we can use to hook a league into our events, and rules changes and tweaks to smooth out some of HH 2.0's rougher edges.
The Liber Antiquia adds two "new" armies to the game, Craftworlds and Harlequins, who were both involved with events of the Heresey.
The Liber Ingenium and Liber Centura add new units, generic wargear, and other upgrades to Loyalists, Heretics, and the Mechanicum.
I am looking for a general community consensus on if we want to use these books, and if so, which books.
Usage of these books would override current changes made in our mission packages such as the pinning nerf and rite of the ancients ban.
