Believe me, nobody is more surprised to see me set up a new thread than I am. This is one of those times where you look at what you wrote and think, “I’m an idiot”. If I’m on a computer, I can still do productive hobby things. In this case I had done a brief outline for a follow up to my post about what you should have in a basic miniaturist’s hobby kit. So I’ve poked at it odd hours this week. When I got a chance to get back to my desk I was able to take the applicable pics and edit them elsewhere. So while it will be an irregular occurrence, I guess I will be posting at least a little more than I anticipated. I’ve set up a tracker for this year but I have no intention of “streaking”, just a bit of self-organization. The imgur link is below. Let me know, there or here, what you think. imgur.com/a/w38N655

It only took me 3.5 weeks but I got something painted to a reasonable standard in January. This guy has been sitting around way too long. AoS Orruk shaman I thought would make a great weirdboy. Let me know what you think. imgur.com/a/BLBo41p

This was a challenging month. I did manage to buy the Deathwing box but have only spent minutes with the DA codex. I got to Clubs to check things out. Otherwise I tried to keep up with the board. I wondered about getting stale so I invested in a change of subject. Today I built Wolverine from the MCP game. Tiny piece of productivity but I have to be realistic about the amount of time & energy I have available. Hope everybody had a good month and good luck in March.

Missed February entirely but it only took me 3 weeks to get this painted once I got started. This month I went in an entirely different direction. I’ve been interested in the minis for Marvel Crisis Protocol since they showed up. I’m an old comic book / movie fan and these looked well sculpted. Back in the mid-‘80s I bought the 2 sets of metal 25mm miniatures put out by TSR for their Marvel Super Heroes game. I painted some but moved on from both them and the game. But as I have been concerned with getting stale working exclusively on 40K, I bought some MCP minis. The first out of the gate is Cyclops from the X-Men. The “new to me” product I used here is from AK Interactive and is (unfortunately) named “Ice Sparkles”. These very fine crystals are intended to emulate either ice or shattered glass. I think they are passable as shattered glass. I am planning to revisit my Imperial Knights at some point to add to their winter theme so I will get a chance to test the ice look there. If anybody has experience with this product, I would appreciate any advice/warnings you have to offer. Overall, a fun project. If you are a superhero fan, whether you want to play the game or not, give these minis a try. As always, any and all comments or suggestions are welcome. Link is below. imgur.com/a/EF93XvO
