So, I'm slowly building what Tomb Kings and various proxy things I have for them. This leads me to a question: what points limit do you think should be used locally?
At first I assumed 2000, same as AoS and 40K, but then I remembered hearing that some people played higher than that, and many people online seem to play closer to 3000 (allegedly, I'm just basing this off what I read or am told). So, it makes me curious as to what will be used here.
Also, I'm aware that it could change, as the books and points values aren't all fully out yet, so things are still in the air as to how much they will cost.

I think 2000 will be the standard. There has been some talk of doing 1999 in order to limit the number of higher level characters. I think the community is aware that inflating points sizes makes the game harder to get into, and this was an issue in 8th edition.
Newguy and I are planning to do our first game at 1250 to line up with the starter boxes. It seems like a decent points level, you can fit in some fun things but unit numbers are still pretty low.
If you use that army builder, almost all the point sizes are in there already.

From my fuzzy memory, 2000 was pretty standard, and 2250 was also a pretty common number used since it allowed for armies to usually bring an extra unit or 2 that they couldn't at 2000pts.
Also I think it was in 7th Edition they actually adopted a tiered point system where most armies brought 2k, but the top tiers could only take 1750 and the bottom tier actually got 2250, just to give each army a more balanced chance
I think 2000 is usually the starting point with most GW games since it's generally implied that the games were built to ideally run at that level

I'm really interested to see if the game will play well at lower points. 1250 or so would be nice.
I really like smaller games of 6th Ed but it doesn't work well for some armies due to lack of lord level hero choices and low leadership.
Generally from what I can see points for ordinary troops are pretty low, so model count could get quite high. That coupled with larger bases could make things pretty packed on the table.

warhammer+ had their game at 1250 to show off the new boxed sets.
Most other batreps of a "full game" I've seen have been 2k
