So i used a couple units of crusaders the lost couple games and found out a couple things.
St 3 makes it a lot harder to wound To 4 or higher units. even with power weapons you sit in combat for a few turns. Adding a character or a techmarine with hammer hands or some other st buffing power to helps a lot.
Out of the games i played they stuck in combat a few times with out the buff but even a 1 st buff helps a lot and 2 makes them awesome.
Had one unit of 10 with a librarian use hammer hands and might of titan take out two unit of 5 terminators in two turns.
As well having a character or tech marine gives them the frag grenades as well as psychout grenades and others.
You do need to bring transports tho i only own one rhino but im going to buy some more and some chimeras if i can, cause taking 4 or 5 turns to get to the other side of the table isnt really that good lol.

Well I tried some crusaders with my sisters army this past Saturday... sisters can't get the higher strength for the crusaders... so they were a tarpit for two turns of combat and died horribly....
so for grey knights sure... but for sisters... not as potent....

ya actually i think their intent was suppose to be wound allocation 3++ saves for the warbands. I think what they wanted people to do is mix up some of the assassins with some other units and put in crusaders for the 3++ saves against shooting and stuff.
But ya when I origonally thought they would be ok by them selves but yes the st 3 does hinder them. But yes i really like them with someone who can buff strength

I just wanted to point out that adding a character with Frag grenades doesn't give the whole squad grenades (that only worked in 4th Ed)
Assault grenades only work for the model carrying them in 5th.
The Psychotrope & Rad grenades still help the unit though due to how their rules are worded.

I remember back when I could spend 5pts for Plasma grenades on Sybrites to give entire Dark Eldar squads assault grenades. Now I have to pay x4 that, but they get Assault & Defensive grenades
