Does anyone know where all the players are? I know both Nexus and SBT have sold out of two orders of the Tomb Kings and Brettonia box sets. Which has got to be at least a dozen people with substantial armies now, but I have not met or seen any of them so far, at either store. It just seems like a mystery to me.
I started up the escalation league and put posters at both stores, but the only people who have expressed interest are people who were already building/refurbishing old armies.

no idea... I was kind of in a "wait and see" with old world, mostly because I already have so much hobby on my plate already, and severely limited time lately.
I actually PREFER the old world game system to AOS, but vastly prefer the AOS models (I couldn't bring myself however tempted to pick up those old big head big hand skeletons again lol)
I've been burned a few times with alternative games, so wanted to see where it went before jumping in all over again (WHFB was my exclusive game for a long time before I finally got into 40k)
so that's where at least I am with it.

I'm still waiting for a copy of the Bretonnian box (I requested one the moment preorders were announced) because SBT has told me it's been delayed since launch day :/ All I was able to get from my order was the 2 Army books and the Bretonnian Arcane Journal I'm also slow getting my collection of armies together, but not sure when I will be ready or able to start playing. I've mostly been assembling and building my own movement trays when I have the free time

Shannon if you are interested I would be happy to run you through a game if you wanted to check it out.

The rmc wargames club is largely insular and has space on campus to run games The other group used to run out of the Jr ranks mess on base, but their fb page is largely inactive now (though they may have switched to discord)

Potentially RMC, but I hear they are big into 40K and Flames of War right now.
I do know the club at Fort Frontenac, and I think Ben there might have bought a Brettonia box. But that still leaves many unaccounted for!

I think we need to get an event going. 1250 tourney or something like that. Get it up on SBT or Nexus FB page and the people that may have just bought that stuff cause it looked cool will potentially come out and play.

How to incentivize players to come out and play, without creating an environment of "getting ready to win the tournament" energy in regular play?
"I'd love to play, but I want to tune my list for the coming event." is something I heard a lot, with 40k.

How does April 13th or 14th sound for people? Would be 1250 points, no painting requirement, small fee to go to raffle prizes. 2 or 3 games ? Can maybe just do 2, one before and one after lunch, so it's less of a time commitment. I would check with SBT and Nexus to see if either of them have availability.

99% sure April is all booked at SBT.
At 1250 games shouldn't go longer than 2hours and that's with players reading rules and stuff.

No painting requirement but have a best painted prize planned for the players that go the extra mile.

I am confused by GW's sales model here. Like I get that Old World is catered towards former players that have old miniatures, but making it difficult to get any of the new stuff really is really not great. I've been looking for physical copies of the rulebooks and the forces of fantasy books for months and everywhere is sold out.
