Wow... that is something. Like AOS isn't even that old and they're already doing this? Maybe if you didn't release so many stormcast models every boxset you wouldn't have gotten yourself to the point where the range needs paring down?
Looks like Beasts of Chaos are moving to old world instead. But if any beasts locally want to keep playing with the free 4.0 rules download, I'll never stop them from coming to an AOS tournament I run.... even past the 2025 "deadline".

Crazy to think the BoC will be gone. An entire army set that functions and plays well. Boneplitterz I understand given that they've had no new models. Low blow for Stormcast players especially given that lots of those units were in box sets and as mentioned above, are not even old... Please don't let us down 4th edition lol.

Its basically my whole army. I loved my ballistae and evocators. All I've got left is a couple unbuilt dominion sprues :/ Never thought we'd get to the point where GW was squatting ranges that aren't even 6 years old.

I can't say I'm surprised about the bonesplittas they bring a real "savage tribesmen from the dark continent" vibe that gw has definitely been trying to distance themselves from.
Beastmen are just sad though. They really do seem to hate game crossover. Honestly it makes me worry for the future of daemons...

Savage orcs are in TOW so I don't think this entered into their calculus. They got the bullet for the exact same reason BoC did :/

Oof.
Sad about my Sacrosanct, but I took them infrequently. Seeing Beasts of Chaos go as a faction is really tough. Main army for some of our community!
Maybe we have a "Farewell to Arms" tourney just before 4th drops? A chill event to put our about to be squatted models on the tabletop?

Locally Beasts can play every event. Just cuz GW says no doesn't mean anything. They ain't the boss of us!

Thanks, I do appreciate that. At the moment it would be an understatement to say the wind has been taken out of my sails. I was hoping to kick off 4th with a new army anyway, but now I don't even want to do that.
Time will tell. I'm sure I'll get some more games in with the goats at some point. I hope they put some effort into the index at least.

So anyway, who wants to teach me how to play 40k again? Fuck 4th ed I feel that there are no longer any safe factions or models in any of their games now....yikes. Tommy's first born marine units are quivering in their ceramite....😄...it's the axing of the newer models from Warcry that gets me as these are newer sculpts. This is new uncharted territory for GW/Warhammer. I do sympathize with you about your Beasts of Chaos. Their business model is flawed and does not auger well for the future. It's the long time players and fans that will ultimately keep the hobby going (or not) and this kind of thing only alienates people as they will hesitate about investing time, money and soul into a game/faction.

It's super easy to get modified movement trays instead of re-basing you round bases to squares.

wondering if this is a ploy to get the beast players of AOS to switch to old world to inject some support there... but really all this does is piss off a bunch of people for literally no gain.
I mean the beast models are awesome and it's not like it's a bunch of resin/metal kits here.
I don't understand at all. Anytime they do "this army doesn't exist anymore" (squats and genestealer cult for 40k which they had to bring back, Brets and Tomb kings for AOS that they had to bring back for old world) it just makes players mad. Which doesn't seem like a good business model.
