drive.google.com/file/d/1YPdSC9mtcSgQ1Zn3qddpP5kSxuSeWjvI/viewFrontline gaming is officially moving away from player place terrian in 10th as it was taking a little to long and they think it was less inviting to casual players since it's a skill in it's own right. A couple interesting points - infinitely tall forest style pieces are used and given the obscuring keyword - creates are given the obscuring keyword, but seem to function as passible for titanic (4" or under) -4" space minium between terrian that is more than 2" tall (free to move over) to avoid choke points - slightly modified GW terrian conversion that affects towering, vehicles parking in terrian (walled off parts of GW that would normally be LoS clear) Over all looks interesting, there are some cool fire lines and melee staging points. A couple of the lay outs look to have a pretty protected middle which is kinda cool. Might be worth thinking about if this could help give life to some of the less usable terrian

These look like good ideas. Woods should just be treated as Ruins. During Clubs Champs Kevin and I faced each on a table with cool terrain but no ruins. So we just treated the cool pieces of area terrain as Ruins and had a great game.

Player placed terrain just eats up valuable gaming time in a tourney so I can definitely see them dropping it. Deployment, terrain and objectives shouldn't be taking up a half hour of your game or you'll never finish it on time.

Ya I like the idea that at a tournament we could just have a little reminder, " for today we are trying, all woods/forests are going to have the obcuring keyword" then when we set up tables we can make sure there is a forst or two on the table to help fill in the board.

Players are supposed to reach agreement as to how to describe terrain at the beginning of every game. That's already in the rules.

I left when 5th or 6th got rid of forests and other terrain blocking mine of site for "true line is sight" which I felt was a terrible decision. You could have super cool terrain that was useless and vice versa que easily and almost nothing blocked but allowed movement.
I think these changes will be good for the game, simple and usable.
