Well since I use inquisitional warbands my list are lacking in shooting. so i had the idea of taking 3 warrior acolytes since they are really cheap and throw them into a razorback with TL Las. have three units of them you have 3 tl las firing a turn behind your advancing combat force. Now each units does cost with the acolytes and the razor back 92 points.
what do people think is it worth it to take pretty much a razor back for 92 points to get some fire support or is it a waste?

I'd rather pay 150 points for a 5 man Grey Knight Strike Squad with a Psycannon in a Rhino. Better, more consistant firepower in the psycannon.

im not sure your trading up one tl s9 shot at 48 " for 2 st 7 shots and 4 st 4 shots at 24", now i would say the strike squad is better on a whole since it is a lot better in combat and if the rhino blows up your not done for as you would be with a warriors ( since a las pistol and chain sword would do almost nothing for 3 st 3 bs 3 guys). But for an inquisitional player who has a lot of get up into the ememies face warbands with some assassins and crusaders and their elite(techmarines and vindicare assassin) and heavy slots(dreadnought and dreadknight) filled i think it might be an ok option i might have to try it out with some proxies some time
and wow thats a very shooty grey knights list Tom, lol untill i saw the strom raven i thought the purifiers would stand in front of the razorbacks to keep them from getting assulted lol

2 x 4 crusaders and 5 assassins in a rhino (one with coteaz and anouther with the techmarine)
10 crusader in a chimera ( with librarian)
3 x 3 warrior accolytes in razorbacks with tl las cannons

2 x dreads with 2 autocannons with psybolt

If you're deadset on the Pleb-backs, then go with Psybolt assault cannons. Better in every way to the TL Lascannon as penetrating all armor values, and has more shots. Instead of an effective 54'' range, you're looking at an effective 30'' range on the Psyassault cannons. In an army based almost entirely around the 24'' range game, you want to maximize your effect in this zone rather then trying to compensate for ranges outside of your zone of control.
The reason why Grey Knights are considered to be so good ATM is because they dominate the mid-field, which no other army really seemed to do quite to this extent and it's frightening because most of the game is dealt within 24'', with usually only specific models / units and turn 1 maybe sometimes turn 2 taking place over 24'' away.

The riflemen should be sufficient for 48'' shooting, but up to you of course. Your army. And yes, Thomas' army example is very shooty - but doesn't even have numbers going for it as would an appropriately made guard list. If someone got in your face and popped your razorbacks you'd fold instantly. =\

thats true and would also be trading the bs 4 tl for bs 3 so.. the only thing that i thought might be better is the fact they could use multi metla and heavy flamers if need be but i should keep them as cheap as possable since the main focus of the army is the CC warbands
