Okay, let's try to get a sense of what style of tourney people really want for our two day club championship....
feel free to add why you voted one way or the other (to help those yet undecided)

I voted for the origonal idea, with the first day being singles and the second being doubles with seeded partners, i think it will be the more interesting to play

yeah, personally I'd like to play the seeded tagteam, I'd love to play that.

If I wanted to win an annual championship tournament, I'd rather do it myself than rely on random pairings for 3 games on the second day which realistically have nothing to do with whatever army I bring.
If people want to play doubles, then make a doubles tournament.

Agreed with Justin with regards to the annual championship- winning solo. The double for a second day does seem like a wonderful idea- I'm just not sure if it should be tied into the score for the primary.

I have to say Ill go with the majority but I vote for 1850 6 games to because I agree with Justin but will be nice to put very high scoring on army comp and painting to encourage people to show up with nice army so we have 6 interesting game...

For a Club Championship tournament, I believe 1500pts is the ideal designated army size because the games are certain to easily finish at that points level. I think having games end early due to lack of time undermines the concept of a competitive tournament.

i guess what it comes down to is it going to be whos the best in all of kingston area for the year, then yes probably 6 games would be better, or is it just fun games, cause personally i know im not going to be winning i just picked what i thought would be more fun, ill play ether way since i like 40k

I'd prefer all the games to be singles for a local Championship and a separate tourney for teams. I voted the 1850 but am fine with 1500 games as well.
While it is true that someone that does not do well on the first day might get a higher score being paired up with a better player (using the seeding plan already mentioned for doubles) it can equally reverse the fortunes for someone that has done well on the first day by putting too much out of their control (random pairings and team game). I think if someone is to get a 'champion' title it should be solo.
Also, if you are still going with the trophy for the winners and random draws for prizes than people that don't do well for the trophy still have the chance for a prize.

Ref Jon J's comment about 1500pts. In a lot of ways I have to agree that 1500 points with the same time as normal will allow most games to finish on time rather than be cut short. And since this tournament is to encourage fluffy lists, there should certainly be enough time whatever the points value so that horde armies have a reasonable chance to finish their games.

i agree with that as well mark i like 1500 pts for finishing the games. there could be a tag team turnament after the championship which people are teamed up based on how they did in the championship or a previous turnament like the one we just had.

I honestly don't know what is played most commonly anymore...I know 1850 was standard around North America when I last played, but either or is fine.
As for singles or doubles, I think two day singles makes much more sense for a "Championship" tourney, unless one was able to cram in 4-5 games into 1 long day for the first day, and do the doubles on the next.

i changed my vote to the 1500 point 6 games. after reading arguments it is really about who is the best general and ya the prizes will be door prizes , ill have fun ether way so, the reason why i put 1500 is cause of what people were saying about quicker games and i was also thinking less models to paint for people getting ready for this
