Looking for a few opinions on weather vanilla assault marines are allowed to select razorbacks as dedicated transports.
Here are the rules as written. "The squad may remove its jump packs and count as infantry. It may then have a drop pod or rhino for free. Note that upgrades must be bought as normal."
So would paying 5 points to make a rhino a razorback be an upgrade?

i think a razorback is a different vehicle essentially although that use the same base, i think they mean like storm bolters and extra armour, but im not 100% sure and im sure people with far more experience them me can weight in

The vanilla codex marines may not select a razorback. Otherwise it would state such.

It may have just been a misprint if you check the FAQ

It's pretty clear on what you can take. The 'Note that upgrades must be bought as normal.' is in reference to the upgrades you buy for your free transport, and therefore can't claim that because it's 'free' you can't take, say Extra Armour on that rhino and not have pay for it.

i checked the FAQ last night and theres nothing on the subject. seems odd to me that they cant take a razorback as a transport.
