When a troops unit is falling back but is still within 3" of an objective, do they contest/control that objective? I ask because I was under the impression they couldn't but as it is, I can't find anything in the BRB stating that to be the case.

Huh....I'll have to look into that one. It's only ever been played that they could not, but I don't think I've ever properly looked it up.

For what it's worth, BRB p90 doesn't disqualify them from scoring, at least not from what I can see.

I looked it up quick and have to agree that it states that any TROOP choice can score (minus the 3 exceptions) but doesn't state anything about whether they don't count if broken. I also checked the Falling back section and nothing is mentioned there either.
I don't think it's ever come up before since it's very rare to have a unit that's falling back be that close to an objective in the first place.

Came up in my last game. For expediency, we ruled it didn't... but in the future, it seems that they do!

I would question that ruling if an enemy unit is within 6" though. If the unit has no chance to recover it isn't stopping to check out the scenery.
Is a broken unit counted as destroyed at the end of the game? If so, can a dead marine control anything?...I mean a completely dead one!

Has anyone checked the BRB FAQ (Big Red Book)? I would, but my computer won't load acrobat at the moment.
