J From what I see you would have to use every thing to get your moneys worth because there is only about a $44 savings in it. What do you think? I'm surprised they will let you save even that much.

Well if you're planning on running warriors it can be a useful enough box I think... but somewhat underwhelming for a "battleforce"... I mean considering it isn't even a legal army unless you buy a character and even then it's not alot of points at all...

well what battleforce is legal without buying anything else? and you could always buy more immortals and convert the warriors with the xtra bitz

It's also an outdated battle force, I guarantee they won't have an HQ selection in the new one, as has been the case with the newer battle forces.

well what battleforce is legal without buying anything else? and you could always buy more immortals and convert the warriors with the xtra bitz various space marines can be legal... (minor converting) the nid one can be as well (as long as you say a warrior is a prime) plus the fantasy ones... it's a totally stupid idea to have a "battleforce" (ie: intro collection for the army) to not be a legal force you can actually play with. How exactly does someone get into this game when they have to drop $140 to get a battleforce for their army and STILL not be able to play! look at the warmachine battleforces... you open and can play...

I think it's largely because GW does VERY few simple HQ models, and other than a few cases, most of the HQ choices around are all Finecast now....can't imagine that stuff getting put into a battleforce.

Yeah but you can use a space marine as a captain pretty easily...
But my point still stands, (other than perhaps assault on black reach - which is an example of what GW can actually do if they want to make a good intro force), battleforces make a rather poor entry to getting an army...
