Tau are a little ways off yes, but I can see GW really tearing apart that codex and having the current line of models not be hugely useful when the switch-over happens. oh don't say stuff like that i know its probably true but i guy can hope lol

Who said nids can't win? Most comments are that the book was poorly written and badly executed by GW (how it treated previous nid players - imagine how a SM player would react if 50-80% of his army needed to be replaced when a new dex was released in order to try to be competitive). The dex limits what are useable in competitive lists - and the army has some bad match-ups. It is also a factor of what units you want to use (or not use) and how those operate in the dex.
But if any of you want to start nids I say welcome to the Hive! If starting you wont have the baggage from before this dex. I would strongly recommend that you proxy a lot before buying so that you are sure you'll be happy with your purchases.

Yeah, but I have a feeling 6th ed in the summer will fix some of the problems with MCs, as well as nerf down some of the other overpowered armies a bit.
Also, what could be more different from a fully meched up army full of twin linked re-roll to wound anything but 1's shooting than Nids?

I've been reading away and I've come up with some potential lists. I'll post them up when I get them ironed out.
So far their looking pretty mean through. The 'Nid one looks particularly nasty!

Shannon,
Im suprised you are winning more with this army then any other... you are a good player that makes a big difference but your Orks list is crazy! I tough your Orks was your best...
Ray: Shooty nids will be way different for sure there is some good shooting in this dex but I dont think its their speciallity tho...

Yeah, Shannon's Ork list is Rough. a Pair of KFFs and a Kan Wall? with Truk boyz and Deffkoptas blended in as a forward element. Backed up by about 60 Boyz + Lootas. I think it's Shannon's roughest list.
However I liked his new shooty-but-balanced Nids too, that actually looks like a rough list. and While the codex does have some weak match ups (Dark/Light Elves, Grey Knights) it also has some stellar match ups as well. (Marines, Necrons, other horrible CC armies)
