Ok if you have a character that gives one friendly units tank hunter. Can you give it to a vehicle? also if you do would it effect ramming?

ok sorry it doesn't matter for what i wanted to do. i was thinking it was +1 to a damage roll not the armor pen lol.
what i was thinking is a night scythe can move supersonic 36" so if you really needed to get rid of a av 14 badly enough you could ram it with the night scythe, 36" and av 13 mean a str 15 hit, yes you will take a str 16 hit, but the land raider is 150 ish points more then the night scythe

Actually it does give both +1 to the Arm Pen AND +1 to Damage rolls.
BUT
Any attack, no matter how strong, can never exceed strength 10 prior to penetration dice. So being Str15 doesn't help. You'd be ramming your night scythe for a 1/3 chance to pen (1/2 with Tank Hunter) because you'd get a Strength 10 Ram, +1 from Tank Hunter, and you would still need a 14.
On the upside you'd only take a Strength 10 hit back tho! lol.

scythe tank shock has pretty low odds of stopping a land raider.... assuming you're not willing to pay the cost of a special character to do this.... I'm not sure why you would ever want to do this anyways... ask David how many problems his necron list had with tanks at the tourney? (hint - he wasn't ramming anything with scythes either!) why wouldn't you use the other far more effective tools necrons have? off the top of my head: the stormlord, haywire, scarabs, harp, pistols, void blades, gauss, doomsday ark, heavy gauss cannons, warscythes, command barge flyby attacks.... and most can be done at range! running your vehicles into stuff to break it is more ork deffrolla tactics... because you WANT to be in combat when the squad piles out of their ride... necrons need a little space

oh yeah i was thinking of it as a last stitch effort thing. and the list i have does have gauss, gauss cannons and heavy gauss cannons.
but last turn of the game and you need a landraider off an objective you need to throw everything you can at it so you can shoot whats in it to death. Id throw all three scythes into it and hope they take it out

unfortunately though, if you kill the landraider whatever's inside is still on the objective... and if your scythe gets wrecked (very likely with AV11) your scoring unit jumps back into reserve...
but those scythes have the movement to play sneaky Eldar tricks and contest objectives last turn....
