Currently weighing the differences between Twin linked assault cannons for the razorbacks or the las/plas... one helps more vs MC while the other helps more vs massed infantry- So not entirely sure though I'm thinking las/plas is the safer bet in general... I do love me some assault cannons though. You should consider the difference it makes to your movement phase, the Las/Plas could easily tempt you to sit back and shoot rather than get in people's faces and still fire with the assault cannon. Maybe you could split it since you've got 4 razors, 2LP, 2 AC? Gives you the best of both worlds, through your ability to kill something like a backfield pred gets slightly nerfed.

Current iteration of the list makes it seem less spammy and offers more tactical versatility, but ultimately loses me some shooting.
HQ Librarian w/ Jump pack (Sword, Shield/Unleash) Honor guard w/ Jump packs (Banner, 3 SS, DLC) Mephiston
Elite Priest w/ Jump pack and PW Furioso Librarian Dreadnought (Wings, Might/Shield)
Troops 5 man Assault squad (Flamer) in a Razorback (TL-PG / LAS) 5 man Assault squad (Flamer, PW) in a Razorback (TL-PG / LAS) 10 man Assault squad (2 Melta, PF)
So here I have two squads with jump packs, some razorbacks for objective grabbing and fire support / counter assaulting and the libby dread to run around and tarpit stuff, pick up objectives or follow Mephiston around and help him kill things... I actually kind of like it and don't feel quite so bad about spamming with this version. I'm loving how the HG models are turning out assembling them though I have to counter balance the metal storm shields I have somehow.

After trying out that recent list, it didn't really seem to work all that well.... too many points tied up in HQ and not enough fire support to help the list at range- so here is the new idea for it that I'm actually quite liking.
HQ Mephiston
Elite Corbulo Furioso Dreadnought (Blood Talons, Extra armor)
Troops 5 man Scout Squad (CCW, Combi-melta, PF) 10 man Assault Squad (2 Melta, TH) 9 man Assault squad (Melta, PF) in a Landraider (Searchlight)
Heavy support Dreadnought (DCCW / TL-Auto cannon, Searchlight) Dreadnought (DCCW / TL-Auto cannon, Searchlight)
1500 on the nose, so now this list gives me the Dreadnoughts to help tarpit units that my fragile assault marines wouldn't really be able to handle... anchors my force with the Landraider unit with the FNP bubble from Corbulo, long ranged support fire from the LR and Dreadnoughts and a suicide / utility unit from the scouts. I like this a whole lot more and it feels a lot less top heavy.
Thoughts?

Not sure about this one. The LR is just as big a points sink as that honor guard and really doesn't fix the problem. Assuming you want to claim midfield something with a melta gun is going to wander by, or a big fast MC is going to make you pay for moving slow enough to fire your lascannons (im assuming godhammer here since you mentioned long range). It also starts to cut away from the sweet gladiator theme with all the giant robots.
Here's an interesting concept I came up with today while assembling some of my own BA. I was thinking about a fleeting dread (DC Dread) and thought about what you could do with a small death company (the drawback of wanting a DC dread) and using your mech list from the OP as a start I came up with this:
HQ: Mephiston
Elite: Corbulo Naked Priest
Troop: Death Company Dread - Talons 7x Death Company in Rhino, 2x Thunder Hammer 9x ASM in Rhino, Sarge with Thunder Hammer (Corbulo's Squad) 5x ASM with Flamer in LasPlas Razorback (Priest goes in one of the small squads) 5x ASM with Flamer in LasPlas Razorback
Fast: 2x Attack Bike with Multi Melta 2x Attack Bike with Multi Melta
It's 1500 like this, but really there's 2 more DC models than you need, so there's really 40 points to play with.
The DC comes out to the same price as the raider, so really as different as this looks, it's pretty similar to what you ran a couple weeks ago without the spammy LasPlas after-taste
The only big change is I added the melta bikes, mostly because I think they'll not only be more reliable than the dreads (and since MCs tend to smash dreads with 2d6) at stopping big nastys so that mephy isn't overworked.

Dunno, I like what the LR gives me in that it is a mobile LoS blocking piece of terrain for things to hide behind, long ranged firepower that I'm sorely lacking and something more durable then a rhino at range. If it gets melta'd then that's my fault.
