So I've been thumbing through the Empire book and there's lots of super awesome stuff in here! I've never had the "Just Human" army in any of these tabletop games so I figure for my "Good" army I want to do Empire when monetary funding allows. So on to the first list I'm figuring out. It's at 2445 points so sadly I have to drop 45 points... but I don't know from where! Lords 499 General (Fullplate, Enchanted shield, Stubborn Crown, 4+ ward) Wizard Lord Lvl 4 Life (Dispel scroll, Glittering Scales, Cloak of Ulric) Heroes 398 Captain BSB (FullPlate, Shield, Dragonhelm, Reroll armor) Engineer Engineer Priest (GW) Priest (GW) Core 700 40 Halberdiers Mus, Banner Attached 10 Handgunners 40 Halberdiers Mus, Banner Attached 10 Handgunners Special 608 6 Demigryph Knights (Halberds) Mus, Standard Cannon Cannon Rare 240 Hellblaster / Helstorm Hellblaster / Helstorm (Will change it up once in awhile, likely magnetize them) It looks pretty generic overall for Empire I suppose but it has a lot of what I'd consider the more viable options (Including the Greatswords, but couldn't find room!) and has enough redundancy to make sure everything gets the job done that I will require of them. Is it too warmachine heavy? Cannons seem to be a necessity with handling most monsters and the rare warmachine are fun looking. Maybe this is because I'm normally a vamps and WoC player so don't get to use them very often... but eh.

Actually looks like a pretty good list with reasonable flexibility. To free up the necessary 45 points, you can start by removing the glittering scales from the wizard since he can't take armour. Only ogre, vamp and WoC wizards can use armour. A few more points can by saved by dropping the current talisman for a generic 5+ ward save and that will give you less than 2400. As to changes, the only thing I think is really necessary would be a magic weapon for the general and maybe a super cheap one for a warrior priest. My personal list will be similar in design but employing more cavalry and fewer war machines.

Yeah, the other idea was to only have the one unit of halberdiers and to only take one of each warmachine- filling the remainder points of the one halberdiers / handgunners for inner circle knights- which are also a super sweet kit IMO. Like so : 2391 Lords 595 Wizard Lord Lvl 4 Life (Dispel scroll, Cloak) Kurt Helborg Heroes 443 Captain BSB (FP, Shield, Dragonhelm, Reroll armor) Engineer Witch Hunter (Brace of P.) Priest (HA, Sword of Anti-Heroes, Ench. Sh.) Barded Mount Core 630 40 Halberdiers Mus, Banner 14 Inner Circle Knights (GW) Mus, Banner Special 668 6 Demigryph Knights Mus, Standard Cannon 5 Pistoliers 5 Pistoliers Rare 120 Helblaster / Helstorm (Magnetized) I ultimately give up my attachments for Pistoliers, Give up two warmachines and the extra unit of Halberds for the Inner Circle Knights to go punch stuff with the War priest and Kurt. At that point a mounted General costs almost as much as Kurt, doesn't have a Runefang and I only really lose out on the Lizardman leadership for breaks- but the unit is still stubborn either way so who cares? Trade out the priest on foot for the Witch Hunter and call it a done deal. In fact I like this list a lot more now that I really look at it, hehe. Also as an afterthought- I would most definitely use the Valten model as Kurt, it's just a way cooler looking mini imo. Also oh so sorely tempted to just use vampire models for the empire army- humans not in fullplate look so....yeah.

I like the second list much better... and seems more fun to play too.... The empire kits look nice, and really lend themselves to a very different painting style... clean, bold lines rather than muddy wash a well painted empire army looks pretty sweet on the field

The second list looks good. demi chicks are a good choice adn I think having the pistoliers will help them in a bind. Keep in mind detachments are key. The gain the same benefits as the regimental/parent unit. So if a WP makes them stubborn then Dets are stubborn..and that is awesome. Its up to you though. You saw my hellbalster in action with an Eng beside them, it was crazy effective. stonecutterI was gonna make cav list too. Witha ll kinds off stuff but that can wait. I would like to see what you do with yours. I am more off an infantry Empire player.....as I am sure you understand. Mike
