From Warseer (who have been giving us alot of WHFB rumours these days)
Dwarves:
Release date: Unknown. But there are rumours of a big overhaul. (Harry) I guess when they come depends on how big an overhaul they get. "I anticipate a bigger redo and a longer project" Not in 2012 (Lord Dan) 2013 has been suggested. (Mirbeau) Expected before WE (Birdy via Darnock) Models were being worked on the same time as Empire models, and had boxes being printed at the same time ... back before the Empire release. (Alebelly_Cragfist)
Author: Unknown. However there is a rumour that the Dwarf book is one of three nearing completion. (meltedwing)
Rules: Unknown. Squadrons of Gyros are being considered. (Alebelly_Cragfist) Rumours of new additions to the list: Latest 'Blackfire Pass' WHFRP supplement specifically mentions 2 new machines available to Engineers - The War Zeppelin and a 'warmachine in the likeness of an ancestor.' Such fluff has to be OK'd by GW HQ, so they're happy for both to be canon, which would suggest that whatever the Dwarfs get, it'll be one if not both of these.... The artwork in numerous recent GW releases picturing both would lend further weight to this rumour.(Alebelly_Cragfist) Dwarf Lord on throne will not be special character only. (Nocculum) New special unit ... dwarf contraptions (See below) (Indrazor)
Models: Rumours of a a big plastic, steam driven, wheeled, orc mashing, monsterous contraption (Harry) In the image of the ancestors as per Dwarf illustration.(Don't remember who first pointed this out) Roumour of a Dwarf statue. (Not sure if it is a Golem or a terrain piece) (Scopey) On the big Orc mashing kit, it's actually a large plastic re-imagining of the old "dwarf juggernaut" model... with a smashy fist option (as one of three (iirc) options) (Hastings) Huge Catapault. Plastic stone thrower. (Mirabeau) People have heard about those robotic contraptions in WoW. Those nice machines the dwarves there build to help them defend and mine. Picture that and place that on a large base in plastic for Warhammer as the new special unit. (Indrazor) Plastic slayers (Hastings, Eldargal, Lord Dan) Hammerers and Ironbreakers. (Mirabeau, NatTreehouse,) Not a Dual kit. (Mirabeau) Rumours of a Gyrocopter. Rumour about a HUGE Dwarf cannon. (? Seems to be based on old concept drawings ... see post 14)
ForgeWorld: Blackfirepass supplement. Forgeworld have also confirmed they will be releasing a Zep kit, just not when. They are also releasing their own Dwarfs in much the same way as their CDs. Concentrating on named character models. (Alebelly_Cragfist)

As this thread was still on the first page I figured it'd be best to continue the discussion rather than start a new one! (yes I know it's an old thread but still... now we can compare how things shape up to these early rumours ) From Faeit: "Dwarves are rumored to be coming out soon, February at the earliest point. So when we start hearing reports of models not being restocked, we start fitting together pieces of the release puzzle to get an idea on what is coming and when. So check out the following. Please remember that these are rumors, and could possibly be an indicator of an upcoming Dwarf Army book release. via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 The store has not received a restock of pretty much everything to do with dwarfs for at least 3 weeks. These were items of which he had at least two in stock at all times: cannons, bolt throwers, grudge throwers, gyrocopters, miners, thunderers/quarrellers. These are finecast and plastic items. We only noticed last week that it had been a really long time since he'd gotten anything in. I know dwarfs aren't supposed to be until early next year, but we noticed the same thing with some of the space marine items prior to their release."

via Larry Vela on BoLS Have no fear, the stunties are on the march - headed your way in February. Here is the rundown of new kits coming down the mountain.
Latest word speaks of:
Dwarfs - February (I'd bet on February 8th)
The Kits:
Plastic Tunneling Vehicle Plastic infantry heavy armor unit kit (dual-build) Plastic infantry light armor unit kit (dual-build)
Plastic War Altar Plastic New VERY large gun/cannon Plastic Beefier Gyrocopter
Clampack Lord
No finecast was mentioned at all. If you look at what needs plastic kits in the existing Dwarf range, and look to the old-unit/new unit splits in the Dark Elves release for inspiration, it's not too hard to figure out what's coming.
These latest set descriptions dovetail almost exactly with Spanish rumors from early November

From Faeit:
Dwarves are coming for February and there is information that is starting to show up for the new army book. A lot of this correlates with what we were reporting earlier from Bols, and goes into some more details. Of course the first Saturday of February would be the expected release date, with pre-orders going live on the 1st.
Please remember that these are rumors.
via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 I can confirm that Dwarves are indeed due within the next few weeks. Models Rumours: Core Troopers won't get a new box.
Light Armor Infantry Box is Slayers and a second build I couldn't recognize. They look indeed weird, however the Slayers are more dynamic than I'd expected them to be.
Heavy Armor Infantry Box is Hammerers/Ironbreakers dual build. They look just so much better than their older versions, quite some variation considering their former lack of such.
The "War Altar" is a dual build of Throne and Anvil I believe. It wasn't quite clear, but it seems to be possible to give a "regular" Dwarf King a toned done version of the Throne.
The plastic clampack character looks amazing. Simply. Amazing.
The Gyrocopter is quite a lot better than the previous one, but not quite as good as it could have been. But it is a lot bigger, the dwarf isn't really that much sticking out It blends in nicely with the rest of the army.
The Tunneling Vehicle looks pretty awkward considering the awesomeness of the rest of this release. I think the rumoured "big cannon" could be a dual build with this one, it looks pretty much twice as good as the Tunneling Machine, especially considering how much potential there was.
Rules Rumours: Pretty few that I know about, but here it is: Playing Style: The playing style will be quite similar to the previous one, but with a wider variation of possibilities. Ironbreakers will be even harder to crack open while Hammerers are No-brainers (Dwarves are slow, but those can hit like a meteorite if they get you!). Cannons are a bit toned down but are still as accurate as always. I think there's a decent chance of not having a single misfired shot within multiple games.

must...resist...rebuying a dwarf army....resist....
From Talk wargaming via Warseer:
"I have tons of new rumours from my source. He was spot on with the dark elves (including the peg leg fleetmaster) so I do believe him.
Runelord can't add DD Dwarf army can add 2 DD every magic phase Anvil is Bound spell (can plus the S for dwarf) Dwarf Gyrocopter (new models) can make two version: 1 is bomber(max can take 2) 2 is fight with machine gun (max can take 6) A lot new special character 1: King of Eight Peaks 2: Engineer with big gun All the new models are infantry (with out Gyrocopte): 1: Hammerer 2: Blacksmith 3: Longbeard 4: Slayer 5: Irondragon(name not confirm) new shooting unit - like Chaos Dwarf IG 4+armor S4 T4 weapon is flaming attack (The Hammerer Blacksmith and Longbeard is in same box, the Slayer is the other box because no armor, Irondragon other box. All the new models very cool.) All the rune are same and warmachine too The magic item: 1: The armor can give the user T10 Sorry for the bad English. Haven't had time to clean it up as I'm on my phone. Source also says that Hammerers can get 2+ AS with a 6+ ward. Probably with a rune. I think these are maybe Ironbreakers?:"

From talk wargaming:
"There will be a new Dual kit which will make a Throne carried by 4 Dwarves, in which Thorgrim Grudgebearer or a normal Dwarf Lord can be mounted. The kit will also make the Anvil of Doom, which is swapped out with the seat of the throne and carried by 4 Dwarves, and counts as a mount for a Runelord. The model will be on a 60x100 base and is pictured in a unit.
There is a new infantry plastic kit which can make Hammerers and Iron Breakers. The Hammerers are armed with great weapons (Hammers) and the Iron Breakers have hand weapon and shield (axes). The bodies are the same for both with head and weapon swaps.
The other infantry kit is a Troll Slayer unit that can also make a new unit of Berserkers. The kit also makes a giant slayer.
The new single plastic figure is a Thane holding a hammer.
All the existing plastics remain."

more from Faeit: "Dwarves are next, and the image released by Games Workshop showing off part of the new weekly White Dwarf reveals the top part of the magazine's cover. Of course from what we can tell, that is definitely a Dwarven head, throne, or some symbol. Here is a link to the pic from Games Workshop www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=12900004 So what do you think it is? Here are some possibilities as posted up on El Descanso del Escriba via Luis Ed(Agramar) in the Faeit 212 inbox. I don`t now if this can interest you but one of my blog's followers said that in new WDW 1 we can find a new dwarf character,King Belegar. There are some clues in the pic. via El Descanso del Escriba (translated by google, so its rough) descansodelescriba.blogspot.com/2014/01/belegarrey-de-karak-ocho-picoscon-los.html But commenting that our colleague has bitten my curiosity, I pulled and Catalog Lexicanum. ... and I've noticed two very interesantes.Una things is that there are two characters who are called dwarf Belegar.Los two are kings ... or rather one of them " was "king. One was King Zhufbar and died in battle against the Skaven in recent times and the other is still alive and is king of Karak Eight Picos.Y this, Belegar Ironbeard ( Here comes the second things I noticed ) I think it is has no character figure WFB ... They say out in February for WFB Dwarves and if the cover is cut and looks that piece of image ( Detail of banner shows what looks like a dwarf rune and then the name of a dwarf king ) can be said that would be before the confirmation of these three ideas: -That the Dwarves out in February -That there is a new dwarf special character . - ... Or both at the same time I bet on the third person. "

more news including a new character in white dwarf weekly!
"The first White Dwarf weekly is about to be revealed. Inside are the Dwarven releases of Longbeards and Hammers, as well as a few characters and a special character with rules. Please remember that until this is released, its considered to be rumors. The first edition is scheduled for February 1st. via Father Gabe on Faeit 212 I had a chance to flip through the White Dwarf weekly earlier today. Here is what I can report on: Dwarves: Dual Longbeard / Hammers box $50. They look amazing Belegar Ironhammer (Or Ironbeard, cant remember). $21. Awesome sculpt. Trollslayer Character $21. Amazing...thought it was Gotrek. Previews for upcoming novels: Scars (Which was an ebook series) and a few others. Jervis Johnson article/rule set: Explains Scouting in 40k...reads well, a cool mini-game prior to scout moves. A Tyranid article A how to paint guide for the new dwarves (exactly like whats in White Dwarf now) A how to build guide for the new dwarves (exactly like whats in White Dwarf now) Rules: Belegar Ironhammer. These are full rules with point costs! I won't relay but this guy is cheap for what you get from him. 300+ points, lots of good attacking ability and awesome defense. I believe there was a battle report as well, I skipped over that part to concentrate on the content. So besides the new release stuff, it was a nice, slimmed down version of the White Dwarf with useful articles, rules, etc. Not sure about the price but $4 a week isn't to bad. And if you don't like the issue, then don't get it! Simple."

this guy looks pretty nasty! From Faeit: "The new White Dwarf that comes out in a couple days will have the rules in it for a new Dwarven Lord, and yes, we have the inside information on him to take a closer look at tonight. Here is a link to Bols where there are leaked images of him www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?41155-White-Dwarf-01-02-2014-w-pictures&p=390488via Belegar Ironhammer Just over 300pts M3 WS8 BS4 S4 T5 W3 I4 A4 Ld 10 Can double his Attacks for a single turn once per game and is stubborn Hammer of Angrund: always strikes first and +1 to wound Shield gives a 4+ ward save and is immune to killing blow and heroic killing blow"

So, a bunch of S4 attacks for 305 points, not exactly an offensive threat IMHO. I am pretty confident you will be able to easily create a better build for far fewer points.
