Ok want to try out some grey knights again with 6th.
Here is what im thinking
Libby, Level 3, 3 psychic powers
Troops
2 x 10 man strike squad, Justicar with a daemon hammer, and 2 psycannons in rhinos
8 man strike squad, Justicar with a daemon hammer, and one psycannon in a rhino
7 terminators, Thawn upgrade, brother banner, 2 daemon hammers, 2 halberds, and one with a halberd and psycannon
Heavy
Land raider crusader
dreadknight, Heavy incinerator
dreadknight, Heavy incinerator and heavy psycannon
1995 points
Ill play around with psychic powers, on my libby, it wont be my huge foot slogging unit to walk across the field like it tryed last time, with MC's being so good i want to try some MC's and actually play them right so i thought i would try the dreadknights out. The rhinos will be up front and get blown up fast, but also give cover to the raider and dreadknights. Might try to get the power that lets me use my normal BS for overwatch and just have a unit stand in front of a combat unit and shoot them until he assaults me lol.
wont be able to make it this saturday but i think ill be down next so might try this out there have been playing the tau a lot

what about dropping the 8 man squad to 5 man, putting them in a psyback with hvy bolter, and maybe give the 2nd night a hvy psycannon?

and I dunno about the banner for the smaller squad, I would drop it (but it does seem fine to keep with thawn and libby) and I might drop stuff for teleporters

well i don't want the dreadknights to out run the rest of the army. I want them, are more behind horde killing support that can punch you in the face if you get too close.
I like taking the banner cause it give you more attacks and well it will be good against nids, auto pass Ld test to activate force weapons mean good by SITW creatures

well I was thinking moving 12" to keep up with rhinos, and maybe shunt back to the home objective if it needs reinforcments

ahhh true, teleporters are nice but make the dreadknights cost so much and i have them die, more often then not. If the teleporter let them fly like people were thinking then it would be worth it they aren't that tough

thanks i think it will do pretty well and i dont think i have to worry about flyers too much, each psycannon can fire 4 shoots at flyers and i can glance them on 3's with psycannons. depending on what psychic powers i get.
I was thinking about trying to get 245 points to get an aegis defence line with a quad gun and a vindicare assassin. the assassin with a 3+ cover save, BS 8 and a quad gun means he has a 2+ 4+ rerollable to hit lol or use his sniper rifle lol

actually quadgun is TL so its 2+ then 2+

ahhh boo, ya i was thinking of it wrong i looked it up. i was thinking the roll for bs 8 was 2+ 4+ so to miss with bs 8 you had to fail both and then i thought TL would let you roll both again lol, but it says right in the rule book if its TL that takes presedent so yes its just a 2+, 2+. lol and yes i know just said "just a 2+, 2+" lol

So new list i would like to try. Raider is nice but getting down in one turn with a lucky roll for first blood and it is a large points sink. But the dreadknights did a lot while they were alive and i know how to keep them in combat longer if i want to keep them out of gun fire. so i want to try three
Hq
Grand master psybolt ammo, he will be the warlord
Libby level 3 with 3 psychic powers
Troops
2 x 10 man strike squads with 2 psycannons and a hammer in a rhino
10 man terminators, thawn, psybolt, 3 hammers, 2 pyscannons, a banner and the rest halberds
heavy
3 dreadknights 2 with heavy incinerators and one with heavy psycannon
2000 on the nose
with the grand master i can make 1 -3 dreadknights scoring or able to out flank. maybe deep strike the terminators with psybolt and 2 psycannons they can do a lot of shooting damage, and keep thawn in the front so if he dies well who cares he gets back up anyways lol. making the grandmaster the warlord cause he has more wounds and a better invul save

I think your going a bit the wrong direction, investing in elite units and making them scoring (and hoping they will survive)
(I've written this with your list you played last saturday in my head)
I think you should actually keep the Land Raider, but instead of putting your terminators inside of it, fill the Raider with 10 Death Cult Assassins or so.
Then I would either do one of 2 things, drop the expensive libby (who didn't seem like he was doing all that much for you) and pickup coteaz instead, putting him in the footslogging paladins to give sanctuary.
I'm not sure about points for those changes, but I think you'd see people much less willing to divide fire between the land raider and the dreadknights.

Hmmm interesting idea. Yes the libby was pretty pricey over 200 points. I like the dreadknights but yes two might be enough if i reduce the price of them i think the way i was running them they were too much.
The changes you sujested the list would look something like this
Hq
Coteaz
Elites
8 Paladins, apothecary, banner, 2 psycannons and halberds, 2 hammers, and 2 halberds. psybolt ammo
Troops
10 deathcult assassins (might mix in some crusaders not sure who)
2 x 10 man strike squads, hammer, and 2 psycannons in rhinos
Heavy
dreadknight with heavy incinerator
dreadknight with heavy incinerator and gattling psilencer
landraider
2000 points
there is one thing about this list, no thawn, i cant troll people with his coming back each turn lol

well, what you could do is drop the apothecary (he's 130pts ) and the gatling psilencer to give both dreadknights personal teleporters (I LOVE the moving 12" and 30" jump ) and then you can have another DCA (which IMHO should be 5-6 crusaders with axes, and DCA have swords and mauls)
