Well here's what I'm going to be bringing out on Thursday night to see what the new rules have done to my beloved underdogs.... Lords:Tyrant: great weapon, heavy armor, luck gnoblar, mawseeker, trickster's helm, opal amulet, ironcurse icon (305 points) Slaughtermaster: dispel scroll, talisman of endurance (255 points) Heroes:Bruiser: BSB, heavy armor, luck gnoblar, greatskull (199 points) Core:6 bulls: bellower, ironfist (250 points) 6 ironguts: full command (338 points) 6 ironguts: full command (338 points) Rare:2 rhinox riders: heavy armor, ironfist, musician, standard/warbanner (293 points) 3 maneaters: great weapons (270) 2248 points this goes completely against the standard MSU mentality when it comes to ogres, and I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen (other than giving my dwarf opponents so many big war machine targets they may get so giddy with excitement that they make a fatal mistake!) so it's five blocks - and I normally run in the neighbourhood of 10

I have 3 units with my 2250 High Elves, and I'm not sure if I can kill enough Ogres to stop that from REALLY hurting me.....

yep... just made up a BSB model this evening (as I actually have uses now for those ironguts standards!) every week it doesn't fail horribly I promise to paint a unit of ogres!!! (this is how I have so many unpainted armies ) ....oh and Matt, it's actually not more ogres than I normally bring.. just in a different configuration.... I'm certain your 21 ASF re-rolling to hit swordsmaster attacks will handle my 6 ironguts just fine

It's all about the gnoblars and small stuff killing the elves before they get close enough to hurt the ogres. Ogre magic is much better now with multiple remains in play and the pluses to casting. On top of that, they now have a "wimpy" miscast table

yeah, who needs the hellheart to make opponents miscast on the ogre table now - the regular table can be far worse!!!
....I'm also thinking multiple butchers may not be the way to go anymore vs. one bare bones slaughtermaster who gets a higher plus to cast / dispel, and really is not much more expensive overall (my standard butcher usually runs 180).... now if I could only take two tyrants!!!!
(stupid restrictive book!)
....and if I had ever seen sharp stuff kill anything more than a single elf or human before running off the board I'd be more apt to bring them.... might just be my luck with the little guys....

...not going to try that just yet... but think of the modelling capabilities!
(one of those araby maneaters sitting on a flying carpet would look awesome!)
