you kinda have no choice to start them or you will get tabled most of your game... Especially if you dont start

Yeah, 'cause two AV F11 S-R 10 vehicles and 4 Guardsmen are going to get laughed off the table lol.

What's the Long Range Ground Scanner do?

Glad you asked!
The long range scanner is a box basically that comes with 1 Guardsman, if he dies the unit is wiped out, so mine will have 4 Guardsmen on it. Essentially what it does is two different things, Long Range Sweep which means any units that try to infiltrate can do so normally on a 4+ otherwise they have to deploy normally with the rest of the army.
It can also do a Short Range Lock which means that a unit within 12" of the scanner on a 4+ roll becomes twin linked for shooting that turn. If a unit has vox casters the range is unlimited from the scanner. The unit recieving the bonus can change each turn, and the targeting doesn't effect barrage or ordnance weapons.
It also doesn't count against your HQ allowance.

love seeing Elysians on the table... the new reserve / models on the table rulings are gonna hurt though... gotta get those boots on the ground ASAP!
(flyers don't count as models on the table for autolose condition)

what you mean? if he has no model left on the table after turn 1 he is not tabled?

if he has no models on the table (flyers don't count) at the end of any turn he loses... so if he only has a flyer on the board... he loses... they don't count as something on the table....

ok so you will really need to change your list if you hope to win a game maybe go with 3 flyers and the rest as normal guard... other then that you wont be able to play your Elysian most of the time you will be table turn 1 or 2..

Elysians are mostly all flyers... he wouldn't really be Elysians then would he he'll just have to play careful.... they can parachute their troops in (kind of like necrons) so as long as he doesn't keep everything in his army embarked all the time he should be okay... it's risky, but sometimes with great risk comes great reward!

Really not liking that no feet your tabled rule. Seems a bit harsh.

til you play a necron air force... then you're quite happy for it!

Well the good thing is they can turn into fast skimmers or come in from reserves as fast skimmers so that they're not aircraft or flyers, so there's that atleast.

well flyers have to start in reserve no matter what its what they start as when they come in that can change isnt it?
also, what about a little GK ally for a cheap inquisitor (maybe coteaz if he has the power) for psychic communion? (+1 or -1 IIRC on reserve rolls)

So, after a bit of looking through the book more. It turns out that they printed the stats for Veterans interestingly. The changes from normal vets
Sgt and Veterans are both BS 3... Lol wat?
Heavy Weapons team is WS 4 BS 4, W 1 Ld 9... Even more wat.
There were some other things like the PCS Commisar having WS 3, but WS 4 in an Infantry squad..
Thankfully all this is cleared up in their Q&A for the book. Where the stats go back to the normal and not that strange world where Vets are BS 3 etc.. Lol!
