So the season is upon us where there's lots of new titles out, some familiar to anyone and everyone (whose a gamer, anyway) and other fans of genre games. Thought I'd run a little roundup, because there are tons of us that play, both on these forums and not, and likely more that I know of. So, first off is Mechwarrior Online. Just gone into Open Beta, they have no intention of resetting anything earned and/or bought, so casual play is essentially done now, and everyone is just eating up new content patches as they come. Anyone who is even remotely a Battletech/Mechwarrior fan should check this out. We have between 4-8 regular players a night from the area, and about 15 people that I know of who have it. Check it out here: mwomercs.com/ Next is PlanetSide 2; A Battlefield-esque domination MMOFPS, with huge play areas and a persistent map that features everything from massive armour engagements, dogfights with air superiority fighters, right down to the good 'ole fashioned infantry grind. A day/night cycle just adds to the game, as does the absolutely HUGE amount of customization that every character can have - really, no one character will be the same. Trust me, for any shooter fan this game rocks face. And really, there's nothing more satisfying than doing an air insertion with your 12 man squad from a flying fortress in the dark into a hostile warzone. Also, the game has drop pods. It's going live on the 20th, but you can still sign for the beta and maybe get early access before then. www.planetside2.com

I'm currently playing Mechwarrior online. I have to admit, I was never really good at first person shooters and I'm really not very good at first person shooter mech combat.
It's a good game, just not my style.
I think I'll be waiting for Mechwarrior Tactics which is more my speed.
