Guard vehicles are still ugly, but I do really like the new color scheme.

At the conclusion of the afternoons battle, Wolf Lord Rhox furiously strode into the Imperial Guard command bunker. He demanded to know what had happened that caused his imperial allies to fire their heavy guns at his mighty warriors. After nearly bludgeoning the poor tank commander to death, he had his answer. He immediately rushed to the armoury. He demanded that the plastic grey armour of his company be repainted in the brightest colour available. This would surely lead any man looking through a range finder to realize these were not Xenos scum, but the mighty warriors of the Imperium. The brightest colour available was a tone of light blue, Rhox demanded that it be applied immediately. He would not have his warriors die dishonourably any longer. i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj578/rbowness20/PLOG/2012-11-18195325.jpgEDIT: As a note, this took less a little more than 30 minutes. Batch painting with a large brush is definitely the way to go for base coats and tanks

Well, it's been a little while since I've had anything exciting to post, but being the holidays, I've finally had some time to catch up on building up my force. I recently retooled the list, and first, I added some "firepower"... i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj578/rbowness20/PLOG/2012-12-24100237_zps089b0216.jpgthen I called in the calvary... i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj578/rbowness20/PLOG/2012-12-24182121_zps0db710a3.jpgand finally, I called down the thunder... i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj578/rbowness20/PLOG/2012-12-24220531_zps29fed3d8.jpgSo, my remaining tasks for this week are: - Put the final (3rd) colour and base on 21 Grey Hunters - Get 3 colours on the 36 Guardsmen that are now full assembled - Get my dreads up to 3 colour standard If I get all those accomplished, I will be very happy. More pictures to come as I dig into painting this week. Wish me luck (painting 57 infantry and 2 vehicles in 4 days... I'll need it...) On another note, I have 1 final decision to make. I've been working on putting my conversion together for my Rune Priest, and I'm somewhat drawing a blank on what to model my chooser of the slain as, most people simple put a skull on a stick, but according to the fluff it's a cyber-raven. I wondering if anyone has any cool ideas for it, as I'm going all-out on the priest conversion itself, and I'd like to keep it going with the chooser (since it's wargear after all), so any thoughts on what might be cool would be appreciated. (I'm also thinking about doing a set of objective markers up too, so bear that in mind). More posts to come as I get painting. Merry Christmas Everyone!

Right now I'm just trying to get 3 colours on every model as soon as I can, that way I'm tournament legal. Then I'll improve from there. My hope is that I'll be detailed/washed/drybrushed, but I just need to make sure I'm legal first. Doesn't matter how nicely painted my grey hunters are if the rest of my army isn't on the table!

Yeah, I finished off the Grey Hunters this morning, I've only got the blob to finish off and I've accomplished my goal for this week.
Hopefully my FW order will come in soon and I can hit the ready for battle mark within a week or two.

so a couple weeks to get the whole army three colours? That's pretty impressive Ray... good work!
....and you'll still have alot of time to then get all the detail work done!

Well depending on when your ordered your stuff from Forgeworld. I ordered twice in December and it took 3 and 2 weeks respectively for the stuff to come in. So hopefuly that gives you a frame of reference.
