just to point out that making a different sized model there could always be an argument that it gains an advantage, or a disadvantage, can I still use the hell brute as a warboss or do I have to use Gazakull? you can use your hell brute conversion... you just can't gain any advantage (ie: blocking the model behind it) for using a bigger base...

does a painted base covering the slot but with no flocks just plainly painted count as based/?? yes... if you paint the base it counts as based... flock just makes it pretty... you want your models pretty... you get more points for that (and it takes like 10 minutes to flock an entire army)

Shannon question for you I might bring my WB at the tournament since they are way more advance in painting and I like my painting on them... My question is can I use a Storm Eagle from FW with my book (I have the book already) but not using the actual storm eagle model that is 90 pound and use my Storm Raven with WB doors wich is the same models....

If it's the same basic model and easily identifiable I don't see a problem with it... so long as you've got the rules in case anyone has a question....

Deadline approaches for finalization of the player pack... any questions / corrections / information missing please post here so it can be included (I'd rather not have to make corrections later if I can avoid it!)

a question I may be looking to make a doom of malentai for the tourney, however, I do not want to order one over the interweb would a zoanthrope with termagant arms(not weapons, just arms) be an acceptable conversion?

Ok, basing question: I am stealing cav bases from my old Vamp Count wolves to stick my bikes on for the 8th, but would it be best if I get proper bike bases for the championship? I'll have like 1 or 2 anyway....

@harry - if you make a conversion for a model GW doesn't make it's fine as long as you're not modelling for advantage and your opponent knows exactly what it is... @matt - Bikes have to be on a bike base. It's the proper base for the model. I can give you the couple of bike bases you'll need... I have extra

Eh, I'll have to order in a pile....These are all from before bike bases existed, so half of them were on cav bases when I got them....still, if it saves me a pack, I'll gladly make a deal.

oh... sorry, wasn't aware that used to be an option... well if it's a previously legal option, then I couldn't really say that you can't use them if it would invalidate a previously legal model... so nevermind then... I guess it wouldn't make a difference at all... and further thinking about it, they're the same basic size, just pointed edges instead of rounded ones....
yeah, totally strike what I said... go ahead and use cav bases as bike bases if you want.... my bad... sorry....

No worries at all. No one really used bikes before bike bases became common, and a lot of people just used them base free. I'm *probably* going to transfer them over to bike bases anyway, just to get a little more room to actually put some basing on them...the cav bases actually are quite a bit smaller, they don't even poke out under the wheels....but yeah, that was what bikes used to come with for years.

on the topic of modeling for an advantage my tyrant is from 2nd ed, and i managed to saw some terrain off of a 60mm base to mount it correctly, so the basing problem's gone. but it is significantly smaller than a current one, it's barely bigger than a warrior...... would I be able to claim a cover save? or would I get penalized on that? p.s. it can also be a disadvantage as it wont get LOS on targets while behind cover.

your tyrant could already claim a cover save from anything that would give any other 4" model a cover save... which is everything as only 25% is required now for the 5+... well except for swarms... but any normal model that is.....
