I seem to have a lot of problems with mechanized lists, I can either go for more HGs or trygons, which one would you say is the better option?

both are really good depends on what your list looks like... with smash attack I prefer Trygon but thats a personal preference... You should run your Trygon normal not primed so if he failed his LD he gain rage +2A on the charge...

my thought is to cut down 6 ymgarls( one brood of 10) and the prime to another trygon

yeah but keep in mind not a lot of list are mech like mine right now... I know Ray changed his list to get more melta because of my list but yesterday he was missing his flamers in his officer squad... I really dont think you are missing anti-tank in your list you just wait to long to come on me with your trygon...

If you wanted to keep your point costs cheap, and you want to cut down to 1 unit of ymgarls anyways, just do 2 units of 2 Hive Guard. Only costs 50 more points.
the Tyrannofex is kinda bad now, BS3 isn't very good when you only get 1 or 2 shots, you could probably swap him for another trygon prime.
I'm actually a big fan of Prime on the trygon, because it gives you synapse, and psychic defense via SOTW, and that psychic defense means force weapons can't instant kill your trygon as easily.

Make your tyrannofex a Trygon... saves you 65 points in your list and adds another combat threat... or make a Trygon prime and save you 15 points for an upgrade or two...
since you haven't actually bought the t-fex yet, it's not like it's costing you any money to switch!

I really like the tyrannofex, it should be fine, like the zoanthrope, if it hits, it can do some damage. 2 broods of 2 or maybe even 2 and 3 hive guards will also be good, since they can always shoot at infantry.

If I'm not mistaken, the Tfex kit is also a Tervigon kit right?
Maybe if you ask Shannon about how to magnetize it you could eventually turn it into a tervigon?

As long as you magnetize the head, the pouch/sac/eggbaby thing and the front arm sockets you can have both kits.... feel free to take a look at how I did my two...

right now, Im thinking of changing my list as folows: list wise:
reduce ymgarl count to one brood or else they will be easily identifiable if there's an small number of area terrain take prime/adrenal off of the trygon, he has a good enough leadership, rage isnt too bad since he's a solid MC, if I want anti-armor, im going to be smashing anyways. increase HG count from one brood of 3 to 2 broods of 4, essentially letting me fire at 2 instead of only one. good for taking on light mech. shave points here and there to make room for a second vanilla trygon
TACTICS WISE: move forward with tervigon/tyrannofex. dosent matter that they are bad in CQC, they have toughness 6 and 6 wounds and can smash trygons are terrible shots, run instead, get into combat and try to take down heavy mech with smashes start using biomancy

I assume you mean 2 broods of 2 Hive guard each, as more than 3 in one unit is not allowed.
Otherwise, your tactical changes are very good. Just remember you cannot Run and Charge in the same turn.
