I've been following this a bit since it was in development, and it seems to be all up and running now. If anyone misses Epic, it looks like a pretty cool replacement. Really nice mins..... Don't know a ton about the rules at the moment, but I've seen little bits of them and they look pretty fun and intuitive. Anyway, I'm just kinda tossing this up here....as per usual not going to spend any money on anything if no one is interested, but I could probably be convinced to go in on this if a few others were. I claim PHR. www.hawkwargames.com/pages/dropzone-commander

PHR looks like some tau and warmachine retribution had little 10mm scale babies... how cute...
wonder if the rules are any good?

I'll poke around and see if I can find a PDF of it somewhere.

Was it you who posted this once before, Matt?
I do honestly like the look of the game and if I were to play it would be one of the two human factions because I like the look of those factions.
But as I'm on the other side of Trenton, Kingston is a bit more than a stone's throw so I can't really get involved.
Besides, I've got DreadBall in the works and I also put money into that Kickstarter for Relic Knight - too many games; too little time.

Just an update, Hawk Wargames has put out a starter box for the game that looks pretty awesome. BoLS reviews it here: www.belloflostsouls.net/2013/10/review-dropzone-commander-2-player.htmlThis is definitely something I'd be interested in splitting with someone if Mike can get it in? I always loved smaller scale wargaming, and this seems like a pretty cool little set.

As I've mentioned before I'd be game for starting it with you. And considering the Starter box gives you 2 starting armies for less than the cost of 1 of the started armies (mainly due to them being plastic and not metal/resin) I think it's a decent investment

Shocked that it's been over a year since I last mentioned this game, I thought I'd bring it up again...it seems to be doing quite well, they just released a new faction of Resistance fighters, a neat mix of veteran infantry, cheap converted civilian vehicles and leftover ancient super-heavy vehicles. They've also got plastic starter armies for all of their factions now, which is nice as I'm not really interested in either of the forces from the starter box. Main starter box is still the best deal though.
Next I'm down to the store I'm going to mention this stuff to Mike and see if he can even get it...if he can't I'm not really wanting to sink the majority of my gaming budget (such as it is) in to online purchases. If he can get it in though, a few starter sets will find their way on to my list fairly soon I think.

Which faction(s) have peaked your interest?

I'm most interested by PHR at this point, but the Shaltari and the new Resistance faction have also caught my eye. UCM has a bit of appeal, but is pretty "meh", and I have NO interest in the Scourge.

I seem to have a liking for the three Human factions.
I know there is a store near my work that has a few players and I had been meaning to go take a look on the night they play but it's an oddball night in the middle of the week that really doesn't work for me.

Well, at least that means someone in the province is playing it!

Meeplemart? They pretty much get everything. I'm in TO for a weekend once in a while...

Yeah, it's Meeplemart. It seems that if there's a game out there, even if you haven't heard of it, that store carries it and has someone who plays it. Weekends are usually given up to the big boys like Magic, GW, and Privateer Press. But it seems I stand corrected now as Dropzone has moved from it's Tuesday or Wednesday night and is now featured every other weekend. www.meeplemart.com/store/pg/63-Calendar.aspxThe next one being next Saturday, November the 1st.

Mike is looking in to getting DZC at Nexus...apparently I'm not the first person to ask after it.
