So as one is to do I've been drooling over armies and models
(dark eldar reavers + scourge why you so pretty but 6e demands I need to run so many troops )
And allies are certainly interesting since it lets me mix units to get strange lists for even more sweet gameplay, so I was looking at necrons and pondering... but Tau are just soooooo friendly, they could Ally with my chaos and my orks... I could run a double ally list someday with orks chaos and tau.
So I made the mistake of looking over my buddies Tau codex (wow this thing is organized poorly) and with the help of Battlescribe I put this togther:
Chaos + Tau + Aegis
Kharn
9 Zerkers, combi melta, 4 axes, rhino, extra armour
9 Zerkers, combi melta, 4 axes, rhino, extra armour
7 CSM 1 flamer, veterans
2 Obliterators
Shas'o XV81
Smart Missile System
Twin Linked Plasma Gun
2x Shield Drones
Iridium Amour
Stimulant Injector
Hard-wired Multi-tracker
Hard-wired Target lock
Hard-wired black sun filter
2x Body Guards
Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Multi-tracker, only one guard has HW black sun filter though
12 Fire Warriors
10 Fire Warrios
8 Pathfinders with one LT upgrade and their mandatory DF (stock)
3 XV88 Broadsides Multi-tracker TL Plasma Rifle
Aegies Defense Line
So scout the PFs somewhere, leave the fish for the 10 man to use and grab an objective after shooting a bunch.
lots of suits for long range shennanigans, some oblits wishing they had such shennanigans.
Kharn and his zerkers rampage about crackin' skulls, the 7 man flamer squad makes sure that the midfield is suitably rampaged through and eventually grabs some objectives.
12 man FW sits pretty with an aegis and an objective.
It's a pretty rough crack at tau models and while I know that everyone says I should wait for the new codex (and possibly the rumoured ally extension) I think list building exercises now would mean a smoother transition when the new 'dex drops.
Also come on, double allies, what does it mean? What could cause a Chaos warband, an Ork horde, and a Tau strike force to fight together?
'Cause they're charlie's angels in army form duh.
