Hey,
So, the temptation to pick up some Dark Eldar is getting stronger but I came across some info on Eldar Corsairs and was wondering how they survived the transition to 6th Ed.? Does anyone play corsairs or have any experience with them?
Thanks

They are a ForgeWorld Imperial Armour army so there isn't actually a codex for them. I do believe they can take units from both the Eldar and Dark Eldar codexes in addition to the units found in the IA book.
From what I remember they have a few interesting units but I'm not sure how competitive they would be

As already mentioned, Corsairs are an IA codex, which means they aren't really an official dex. But if you want to look past that there's a few other things.
Please bare in mind that I haven't played Corsairs specifically, but I have played Eldar for approximately 9 years.
Corsairs as an army have some large strengths and some large weaknesses.
Key Strengths:
- Ability to take lots of Heavy Weapons on basic Troops. - Jump Troops and Fast Vehicles make them highly mobile - Have lots of access to mid-strength and poisoned weapons
Key Weaknesses:
- Most Armour saves are 5+, and nearly every body is T3. This makes them very very fragile. - Ability to deal with High AV (13+), since you are limited to Lances for this, and those are expensive and inaccurate - Very Poor HQ slot, Combat Characters are all very fragile, and lack a way to get into combat easily. - Forgeworld Kits are needed to truely build the Corsair Theme, and those kits are pricey.
Those are my personal thoughts about the army. Hopefully this helps you in one way or another.

To add to what Ray said one of the keys to this list is the Forge World fliers...I've seen it played before and they had 2 or 3 to deal with anti-tank and anti-flier that they'd otherwise struggle with.
My overall feeling about them is that some of the units, like the awesome Wasp war walkers are really cool to pull into a regular codex army, but running the list itself would be pretty tricky unless you really wanted to dump a ton of cash on bigger Forge World pieces.

Are the big forge world models allowed in tournaments around here? The heavy tank stuff is the main reason I would do Corsairs as Dark Eldar are limited to Dark Lances to do their tank busting. That, and their open top vehicles are pretty paperish.

The super heavies are apocalypse only, a rarely played variant of 40k for resolving megabattles.
