thanks to dwarfs finding a new home, not only will I be able to finish off my final couple of khorne purchases, but can also start on what I need for my slaanesh...
so I already know I'm buying seekers... but the quandry for me comes with the heavy support slot...
I'm likely going to concentrate on chariots (because every time I build a daemon prince I like I go "for HOW MANY POINTS?"... yeah they're pricey beyond usefulness and my dex can't take a black mace!
So my thoughts are... seeker chariots only, or adding in exalted chariots...
heralds on chariots at first seem okay, but then you realize the best loci (beguilement) really doesn't help a chariot out at all... (and the others are even less appealing - going first already with impact hits and move through cover is little use) ....and the regular chariots can take the lesser gifts for AP2 attacks... and it's more expensive to buy a chariot as a herald mount than on its own
so here's my dilemma (after all that preamble!)
exalted chariots look cool. They have 4 HP, but are otherwise the same fragile AV11 open topped vehicle that the seekers are... for nearly double the price...
I'm guessing glancing to death will be the exception, not the norm... these guys are going to be making craters....
but they look freaking cool... not sure if they're that many points cool... (and double the $ by the way!)
So is it better to run:
185 points = 2 seeker chariots, 1 exalted chariot, 3 lesser gifts (AP2 for everyone!)
or just:
150 points = 3 seeker chariots, 3 lesser gifts (saves 35 points per cavalcade - and about $30 - but lose 2 HP)
if there's no appreciable difference, then might as well go the exalted route (rule of cool)... problem is most of the tacticas online are before the new dex, so people didn't use the exalted because of the giant deepstrike footprint... now that they can start on the board, that problem goes away....
these kits are big and cool... but also something I need to paint unassembled... and something once I buy (ie: the big exalted kit) I'd actually want to use!
if it's not worth it at all, I'll save the money and the points for sure!
anyone got any ideas?
