Hey, I'm an on-again off-again FoW player, new to the Kingston area and 3rd edition.
I was hoping to get back into the game with a new force, and I was just hoping to gauge when and where people get together. I also am having some trouble choosing which army to play, so I'd like to know which theaters and time periods are most common around here, I'd be happy to just pick an under-represented side in the most common period. Any direction would be great. Thanks.

Heya, there are a few of us still around. Most play mid-late war, europe. We're fairly lenient about lists, from what I am gathering, with an even-ish spread of axis and allied players. We tend to meet friday nights or sunday afternoons at Nexus.
Lists from Grey Wolf, Red Bear, Earth&Steel, Turning Tide and Afrika seem to be most common. A couple Eastern Front lists as well. (estimated numbers) Germany - 4 UK - 2-3 USA - 1-2 USSR - 1 Hungaria - 0 Romania - 1 French - 0 Italian - 1 Poland - 0 Finland - 0

15mm WWII miniatures. www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=36 official site theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/ wide range of 15mm WWII minis www.zvezda.org.ru/?lng=1&nav=2&p=59 limited range of 15mm, but well priced and good quality ($4/ vehicle at display model quality) Flames of War is -not- a historical game, it is a WWII miniatures game. There's a bunch of flak on the net about the difference and you really gotta just look at FoW as another table top game that happens to use tanks and infantry from WWII to represent the datums. I'm not knocking the game, I really enjoy it, but if you want something more 'historical', I hear "I Ain't Been Shot Mum" and "Battlegroup Kursk" (latter is available through the PSC website linked earlier) Mike can order in BattleFront (FoW official brand) and Zvezda, though BattleFront are... frustrating. Maybe if Mike gets more FoW orders in, they'll recognize that we exist. That said, there are a few folks around who may sell an army (or parts)

Looks like Mike had a bunch of FoW merch brought into the store. There are a few copies of the starter set (which is a hella good deal with 11 tanks, 3 platoons and other goodies for &80)

If so, is the above posted last year still accurate?
