So... It has been a little over 3 months since I have been able to actually go back to Kingston and have a game of WHFB/Warmachine, and seeing that i wouldn't be back until the end of AUGUST... I knew this was not acceptable! I recently found out during my time working at the museum that some of my co-workers (And 1-2 others around the area) enjoy wargaming aswell. Since then, I looked up some neat designs and tutorials for terrain. I quickly threw together a 6'x4' board using chipboard as the surface and 1'x3' to support it...decorated it a bit...and even made a few bits of terrain Since then I have had a couple games on it with local friends and it has fed my hunger for playing again I'll link some pics of the board I am also looking for tips, tricks, and even ideas on what i should make for the board since i will be carrying this back to Kingston during august

I'd get some screen to cut into oblongs for forest cover... put it on the table as the boundary of the forest... add a couple model train style trees to the top (not secured so you can still move units through but there to indicate that this area terrain is a forest)
also if you get a wire cutter and some of that hard pink insulation foam, you can cut out shapes for hills (and anything else if you get really creative - saw online someone did helm's deep out of cubes and other shapes)... just don't prime with spraycan... the accellorant melts the foam... you need to brush paint the foam...

Or coat with jesso then spraypaint. Unless you want melted spots, like magma rivers etc, then controlled spray application works well.
