isn't premeasuring fun? A stunned flyer must move directly forward exactly 18"... no turning, no moving more or less than this amount. If you stun a flyer you can then measure 18" in front of it and put something there (fast moving chariot was used in the battle report I read). On the flyer's turn it then crashes and dies... dirty eh? be warned...

I've read you can use a similar tactic to avoid vector strikes, simply just place models so that you cannot place the flyer/MC base anywhere it can get to after vector striking the target.
However, both of these tactics rely on there not being any rule about moving the minimum amount to safely place the model. I'll look into this one when I have my BRB in hand, because if so it's a very valid tactic.
Movement is king.

rule about flyers says if they have no where to safely end their movement that is not on top of or within an inch of a model they die. normally you can try and use board control to give them not a lot of landing options or to limit movements of regular flyers (not FMC's and vector dancers though!) however the advantage of the "stunned" result is you know exactly where that flyer is going to be in it's next movement phase, so you can just be there, then he suffers crash and burn as per the rules...
if you control movement, you control the game... especially with flyers...
the interesting thing with the stunned example is the guy used it against a crimson hunter that was wrecking his FMC's (daemon list with guard allies) that was just avoiding him with vector dancer - got a stunned result and did a flat out to put a hellflayer chariot 18" in front of the crimson hunter. One dead crimson hunter... it's hard to pull off (you either have to think a turn ahead or be able to flat out in position) but when you do it's pretty ace...
