I don't want to say those four little words, but I've been advocating more terrain since the beginning of 6th, and this article really shows why you need it. LOS blockers, using True LOS and placing lots of terrain on the table make a more tactical and exceptionally fun game.
This article really highlights terrain and why more is necessary. Not to say we don't have enough terrain at Nexus, but I think there are some fun ways we could add to our terrain as a community. For example: Have a tournament where if you make and donate a terrain piece, you get a discount on the cost of the tournament. Say tournament is $20 dollars entry normally, well if you make a piece of terrain you can give that to reduce your entry fee to $15 dollars.
Again, just a random thought. But I think if we find ourselves lacking for terrain with the big winter tournaments coming up, there are lots of ways we could add to it and cut down on shooting dominance.

I agree with Ray.
I'd be also more interested in maybe us doing a workshop/building day where we show up at Nexus and make terrain. I think it'd help everyone learn how to make different terrain types for bases as well as make a bunch more of themed terrain to chose from.
I.E. Snow/tundra, Desert/Sand, Ruins/City, Grass/Forest.
Just a thought though. c:

We definitely need more terrain for the big tournies for sure...
even with the thousands of pieces built for Nova, they still often say they don't have enough... so it's kind of a universal problem...
shooting for 12 pieces per table is a good start at least....

Nice article. Sixth definitely has more emphasis on terrain a strategic use that I think really is not taken advantage of. I see a lot of boards with sparse symmetrical terrain placement (I am bad for this ^^) that creates static gameplay and boring linear movements.
It would be great to have more(diverse) terrain to work with and I would be happy to contribute some man hours to helping make some.
