I have a large amount of love for Mantic. I gave money to them for DreadBall and Dead Zone; I know they're coming out with a Mars Attacks game in a couple weeks on Kickstarter but what I am honestly waiting for is the Warpath kickstarter rumoured to be next (though most likely next year).

Look like il have to keep a eye on kickstarter for that, I did also jump on the Dreadball wagon but not Dead Zone sadly. One reason y I pick up this warpath starter box is cause it the same army as my Dreadball team.. Just with gun I do really like the look of Mantic minis.

It's a shame you didn't get into Dead Zone as it is the skirmish version of Warpath and the models can be used (and are encouraged to be used) for Warpath.
I'm keeping an eye out for it myself and I'm sure Mantic will give plenty of notice. At current though I just don't have the time to play most of my current games. I am hoping that changes in the coming months.

Wait but wouldn't that mean I can maybe use my warpath models to play Dead Zone? If my army is even In Dead Zone.
And I know the feeling, I still haven't even tried out Dreadball yet among other games I pick up.

Dead Zone so far contains six factions: Enforcers Marauders Rebs The Plague Forge Fathers Asterians

In the latest Mantic podcast, the owner Ronnie Renton talked a bit about the future of Warpath. Warpath is following their Kings of War model where they make some minis and put the rules out for a 2 or 3-year beta.
The first incarnation of Warpath was massed battles - units of troops with wound tracking instead of model removal. The current ruleset for testing (2.0) is more of a skirmish game with a neat alternating activation mechanic. Models are grouped in units, but are removed as casualties.
Now that Deadzone is taking off as a true skirmish game, Ronnie hinted they might push Warpath back to a unit based mass battle game. There should be crossover in the races and models between Deadozne and Warpath and there were hints at a tie between the two games with a campaign format. I 99.9% believe there will be a Warpath Kickstarter, likely next spring that will flesh out the current races with hard plastic troops, add vehicles and as many more races as they can hit stretch goals for.
Dreadball is a lot of fun. Season 3 is shipping in the next couple of weeks bringing it up to 12 teams and really tightening up the rules (for 2-player anyway, the multi-player version looks crazy). My son and I went in on Dreadball and have probably got 30+ games in so far. Two of us, 2 more players here...sounds like a tournament in the works!

Ah.. Sadly I got VEER-MYN for Dreadball & WarPath, and I also play skaven in fantasy.. I think I got a Rat problem . don't look like I can use then unless VEER-MYN goes to Dead Zone. And so far I do like the rules for Warpath how they are now, but will see. Many things look nice on paper but when playing with it, your view can change like the wind. And I do know most of the Trenton Group got into Dreadball but still haven't seen anyone play it yet, But a tourney might be interesting.. But first I might need to get some games under my belt for Dreadball.

Yeah, you've got me there Ripca. Despite desires and demands of the backers during the Kickstarter, Mantic held back from including the Veer-Myn as one of the factions. However, the reasoning behind this decision as they seemed to say it was that a race like the Veer-Myn and the Zzor could create their own version of a Dead Zone. As such it appears that even though they didn't make it into this version, Mantic may revisit the idea later on. Most likely due to the success of the Dead Zone KS, this is more reality than speculation. So hold tight, and Veer-Myn will probably get their own Expansion.
