I was just curious how many tyranid players there are in the Kingston area, besides Shannon and myself.
I am also curious how many people considered starting or played nids with the new codex and if they decided to drop nids, why?

I hope so... otherwise GW will never make a new codex if it's just the two of us!

I had a great sculpting idea for a nid army that I started then the new codex came out and it would just make too many people confused. Before you could give different units feeder tendrils, now, only two units have them, I was modeling an all feeder tendril army (knowing rule wise that only certain units could have them) and having the backstory as Cthulhu and the deep ones, with the big bugs representing other elder gods from the Cthulhu mythos. Now that the new dex is out, I've shelved them for other projects but would like to someday re-visit them as the custom modeled Doom of Malan-tai I did is a good conversation starter.

That sounds like an interesting idea. Feeder tendrils really do visually fit with Cthulhu in my view too. In the new dex I don't think any unit actually has feeder tendrils anymore (none come to mind/they don't have a function anymore), although the picture for ymgarl stealers shows them.

yeah feeders are out unfortunately (was a GREAT biomorph!)
I'd love to see a fully done Cthulhu theme though... that would look pretty sick....

I did have some fun modeling the tendril heads for the fexes, tyrant and tyrant guard, but like I said, got other projects on the go, I'm focusing on fleshing out my Death Guard finally, they'll be based on the crew of the Eisenstein and the Terminus Est. I'll be using the demonhunter armor for the pre-heresy look the Eisenstein would still have and the forge world death Guard for their pursuers in the warp, the crew of the terminus... I think visually it'll be an interesting army to field.

Well there was another nid player at Nexus on Sat. Three nid armies on one day. Looks like the hive mind is still active.
